The FAG NUP211 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 55 × 100 × 21 mm, serves as a single-row fixed bearing for high radial loads and axial guidance on both sides.
The FAG NUP211 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing with the main dimensions of 55 mm bore, 100 mm outer diameter and 21 mm width. Thanks to the line contact between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways, the design can withstand high radial loads. This version features a standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). As an open bearing, the bearing assembly relies on an external lubrication system or housing seals to prevent the ingress of contaminants.
This cylindrical roller bearing is suitable for shaft mountings where high radial forces occur and the shaft must be fixed axially in both directions. Typical applications are found in industrial bearing arrangements with combined load requirements. As this is the NUP design, the bearing acts as a fixed bearing. It guides the shaft in the axial direction without the need for a separate thrust bearing.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This design enables the bearing to accommodate axial forces from varying directions. The integrated polyamide cage (TVP2) guides the rollers quietly and reduces the weight of the rolling element set. When designing the application, take into account the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and ensure a suitable lubricant supply via the housing.
The dimensions are 55 mm internal diameter, 100 mm external diameter and 21 mm width. It is a single-row bearing with a cylindrical bore and no lubrication groove on the outer ring. Before installation, the bearing seats on the shaft and housing should be precisely adjusted to these nominal dimensions.
In the NUP design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc. As a result, the bearing secures a rotating shaft axially in both directions. It therefore functions as a true fixed bearing and, in addition to very high radial forces, can also accommodate limited axial loads.
The suffix TVP2 indicates a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by good damping properties and a low moment of inertia. The plastic cage ensures quiet roller operation and is suitable for the permissible operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The product is manufactured with a standard radial bearing clearance. This clearance is designed to cope with typical operating conditions, using standard fit selections and with minimal temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. It prevents the cylindrical rollers from becoming unduly jammed once the normal operating temperature is reached.
As this open bearing is supplied without integrated sealing washers, the bearing housing requires external sealing of the adjacent structure. Lubrication is carried out using either bearing grease or lubricating oil, depending on the rotational speeds and thermal conditions. An outer ring without a lubrication bore means that the lubricant must be supplied from the side via the bearing housing.
The permissible operating temperatures range from -30 to +120 degrees. This operating range is largely limited by the polyamide cage fitted and the thermal resistance of the lubricant used. For applications above or below these limits, special cage and lubricant designs are required.
