The NJ226 ECP cylindrical roller bearing from SKF Rolling Bearings, measuring 130x230x40 mm, offers high radial load capacity and single-sided axial guidance when used as a support bearing.
The NJ226 ECP cylindrical roller bearing functions as a single-row rolling bearing for heavy radial forces in industrial gearboxes and drive applications. Thanks to the optimised internal design of the Explorer series, the bearing assembly can accommodate high radial main loads. At the same time, the NJ design allows the shaft to be fixed in the axial direction. As an open bearing without sealing elements, the bearing unit can be integrated directly into the machine’s lubrication circuit and supplied with grease or lubricating oil, depending on requirements.
The NJ design functions as a support bearing in demanding mechanical drive trains and industrial gearboxes. This design combines a high radial load-carrying capacity with the targeted absorption of axial forces from a single direction. As the unit is designed with an inner ring that can be removed from one side, the bearing allows for a defined axial displacement in the opposite direction. This enables thermal-induced changes in shaft length to be effectively compensated for during operation.
The integrated polyamide cage reduces the rotating masses in the roller ring due to its low weight and promotes smooth, low-friction running of the cylindrical rolling elements. The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Thanks to the separable inner ring, both bearing rings can be fitted independently onto the shaft and housing. This design feature significantly facilitates precise assembly as well as any necessary inspection and maintenance work.
A single-row cylindrical roller bearing with a 130 mm bore, 230 mm outer diameter and 40 mm width. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to accommodate radial loads as well as axial guidance forces in one direction.
The NJ design provides axial support for the shaft in one direction, whilst allowing displacement in the opposite direction. This helps to prevent harmful stresses when components expand thermally during operation. Furthermore, the removable inner ring simplifies the separate assembly of both bearing rings.
This roller bearing combines two defined accuracy grades in accordance with international standards. The dimensional accuracy corresponds to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. To ensure precise rotational movement and smooth running, the running accuracy is specified to the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees. This range is essentially limited by the polyamide cage fitted. Within this temperature range, the material retains its mechanical strength and reliably guides the rollers along their raceways.
As the bearing is designed without integrated seals, lubrication is provided externally via the housing system. The outer ring has no groove and no lubrication holes. Lubricant therefore reaches the rolling elements and raceways directly from the side via the open cage area.
