The FAG N211 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a non-locating bearing with a brass cage, measuring 55 x 100 x 21 mm.
The N211 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG designed for radial loads. Due to its N design, the inner ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the outer ring is flangeless and removable on both sides. This design allows axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing to be compensated for directly within the bearing. With standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0/PN, this open roller bearing is suitable for conventional industrial drive trains.
Typical applications include rotating shafts where radial loads occur and thermal linear expansion of the shaft must be accommodated. As a non-locating bearing, the N211 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing counteracts axial stresses in the bearing arrangement. With a permissible temperature range of –30 to +150 degrees, the component covers a wide range of operating conditions in mechanical engineering. The open design requires lubrication via the surrounding housing using lubricating oil or grease.
The designation M1 indicates the brass cage, which guides the cylindrical rolling elements. Brass is characterised by high mechanical strength and withstands dynamic loads. As the outer ring has no groove and no lubrication bore, the lubricant supply must be provided via the bearing environment as a design feature. Because the outer ring can be removed from both sides, the shaft and housing can be fitted separately.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 55 mm at the bore, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 21 mm. These key dimensions define the installation space required for the shaft and housing in the design.
The designation ‘N’ denotes an inner ring with two solid flanges to guide the rollers, and a flangeless outer ring. The outer ring can be removed from either side. As a result, the unit functions purely as a non-locating bearing and accommodates axial length changes within the bearing without restriction.
The suffix M1 indicates a brass cage. This cage guides and spaces the cylindrical rollers. Thanks to the strength of the material, it is suitable for demanding operating conditions involving vibrations or rapid changes in speed.
This specification refers to the standard tolerance class for rolling bearings in accordance with P0/PN or ABEC 1. It defines the permissible dimensional and runout tolerances for standard industrial accuracy requirements in housing and shaft seats.
As an open roller bearing, this design does not have any integrated sealing washers. Protection against contamination and lubrication with grease or oil must be provided by the housing design. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees.
This model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. This standard bearing clearance is designed for typical operating temperatures and recommended shaft fits. Once fitted, there remains sufficient radial clearance to ensure smooth, low-friction operation of the rollers.
