The SKF nup220-ecp cylindrical roller bearing, with an outer diameter of 180 mm and a polyamide cage, offers a robust solution for high radial loads.
The nup220-ecp cylindrical roller bearing provides users with an open rolling bearing for demanding industrial applications. The design accommodates high radial forces and, thanks to the integrated flanges on the inner and outer rings, also supports the shaft axially in both directions. With a width of 34 mm and a cylindrical bore, the bearing unit can be fitted precisely into surrounding housing structures. SKF manufactures this version with standard radial clearance for normal operating conditions in mechanical engineering.
This rolling bearing is particularly suitable for mounting positions in general mechanical engineering where high radial forces are present. Thanks to the NUP design, the bearing acts as a fixed bearing capable of absorbing axial forces in both directions. Typical applications include industrial drives and gearbox units subject to combined loads. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +120 °C, enabling the bearing to cope with a wide thermal range during normal plant operation.
The lightweight polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low friction and contributes to an even load distribution within the rolling element ring. Compared to solid metal cages, the elastic plastic material reduces the moment of inertia and minimises noise during rotation. As this is an open design without integrated sealing washers, you can flexibly select lubricants such as grease or oil to suit the operating conditions and lubrication intervals of your design.
This design combines a high radial load-carrying capacity with the ability to accommodate axial forces in both directions. Fitted with a polyamide cage and standard radial clearance, the bearing is suitable for precisely guided shafts in industrial applications.
With an outside diameter of 180 mm, the bearing is 34 mm wide. The inner ring is designed with a cylindrical bore for fitting onto suitable shaft seats.
Normal bearing clearance refers to the specified operating clearance between the rollers and raceways in their initial state. It is designed for standard fits and typical operating temperatures, ensuring that the rolling elements roll without any impermissible preload.
Open bearings allow lubricating oil to flow through directly or enable the targeted application of application-specific greases. This design requires an external housing seal to prevent the ingress of dirt particles.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 °C. This range is largely determined by the material properties of the polyamide cage and the thermal resistance of the steel components.
Depending on the operating conditions, both lubricating oil and grease are suitable. The choice depends primarily on the operating speeds, the operating temperature and the lubrication concept for the entire system.
