The FAG NUP2308 -E-M1A cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 40x90x33 mm, is a single-row fixed bearing offering high radial load-carrying capacity and axial guidance in both directions.
The NUP2308 -E-M1A cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is designed as a single-row rolling bearing for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to the line contact between the rolling elements and raceways, this model can withstand significant radial loads. With a bore of 40 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 33 mm, the design covers a permissible temperature range from –30 to +150 degrees. The open design without an integrated seal allows for direct integration into existing lubrication systems.
The NUP design functions structurally as a fixed bearing: two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring, secure the shaft in both axial directions. The cylindrical rollers simultaneously absorb heavy transverse forces and guide the shaft under high radial loads. This design is suitable for bearing locations where, in addition to predominant transverse forces, axial guiding forces on both sides must be accommodated without a separate thrust bearing.
The suffix M1A denotes an externally guided solid brass cage that maintains the spacing between the roller elements even under dynamic loads. Thanks to the guidance provided by the outer ring flange, the cage remains vibration-free and dimensionally stable despite fluctuations in speed and vibrations. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), this configuration is suitable for precision shaft systems with a defined operating temperature, where lubricating oil or grease can circulate freely around the open bearing.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a loose flange disc. This arrangement enables the bearing to function as a fixed bearing, allowing it to accommodate axial loads in both directions and to axially fix the shaft.
With an internal diameter of 40 mm, an external diameter of 90 mm and a width of 33 mm, the bearing complies with standard dimensions. The outer ring surface is smooth and manufactured without a ring groove or lubrication bore.
A solid brass cage is guided along the outer ring flange in the M1A variant. This design withstands high accelerations and vibrations, and guides the rolling elements through the load zone with high thermal stability and low friction.
A temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees is permissible for operation. As no elastomeric sealing washers are fitted, the thermal limits of the bearing are primarily determined by the chosen lubricant and the dimensional stability of the material.
The version with standard radial bearing clearance corresponds to the standard specification without an additional clearance code. This design is suitable for standard shaft and housing fits where the thermal levels between the inner and outer rings are balanced.
As no seals are fitted as standard, the bearing is mounted in an open configuration. Protection against the ingress of dirt and the prevention of lubricant loss are achieved by means of external sealing elements in the bearing housing, such as radial shaft seals or labyrinth systems.
