The SKF NU306 ECP cylindrical roller bearing (30x72x19 mm) is a single-row idler bearing that withstands high radial loads and compensates for axial length changes with low friction.
The SKF NU306 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is designed for demanding industrial applications involving purely radial loads. Thanks to its SKF Explorer quality design, the bearing features an optimised internal structure that improves roller contact. With a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm, the component fits precisely into standardised housing dimensions. You receive a reliable component for both design and maintenance.
This single-row roller bearing is primarily used as a conventional non-locating bearing in shaft mountings subject to thermal linear expansion. Typical applications include industrial drives and rotating machine shafts subjected to high radial forces. As the outer ring has two fixed flanges and the inner ring is flangeless, the shaft and housing can move axially relative to one another. This prevents stress build-up in the shaft train and ensures smooth machine operation.
The NU design is characterised by an inner ring that can be removed from both sides. This feature makes installation and maintenance considerably easier, as the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately. The integrated polyamide cage (designation suffix ECP) ensures precise guidance of the cylindrical rollers whilst maintaining a low weight. The open bearing has standard radial clearance and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. External seals protect the raceways from contamination.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. These key dimensions mean that the roller bearing can be fitted directly into the corresponding standard housings, allowing for easy replacement in existing designs.
In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be moved axially in both directions and removed completely, which means the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing.
The abbreviation ECP denotes an optimised internal design within the SKF Explorer performance class, combined with a polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the rotating components and helps to ensure quiet running at normal operating temperatures.
This roller bearing has a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1 in terms of dimensional accuracy. In terms of running accuracy, the bearing meets the tighter tolerance class of P6 or ABEC 3. This specification ensures defined concentricity in precision drive trains.
The component is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. As this is an open design without integrated sliding seals, the lubricant and external housing seals must be suited to this temperature range in order to keep contaminants away from the raceways.
NU-type cylindrical roller bearings are designed exclusively to support radial loads. As the inner ring has no flange, it cannot transmit axial forces. An additional fixed bearing must therefore always be provided in the assembly to secure the shaft axially.
