The SKF NJ2215 ECP cylindrical roller bearing (75x130x31 mm) withstands high radial loads and supports shafts axially on one side as a support bearing.
The NJ2215 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing in the SKF Explorer series with a 75 mm bore, 130 mm outside diameter and 31 mm width. Thanks to its optimised internal design and lightweight polyamide cage, this bearing is designed to handle demanding radial loads. Designed as an open bearing, it requires an external lubricant supply and housing seals. Dimensional accuracy complies with P0/PN (ABEC 1), whilst running accuracy is manufactured to P6 (ABEC 3).
This rolling bearing is primarily used to support high radial forces in machinery and plant. The NJ design acts as a support bearing: it absorbs axial forces from one direction but allows axial displacement in the opposite direction. In this way, the bearing compensates for thermally induced changes in shaft length without any binding. It is typically used in bearing arrangements where radial loads predominate and single-sided axial guidance is required.
The outer ring has two solid flanges, whilst the inner ring has a single flange and remains removable from one side. This separability facilitates both installation and removal, as the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately. The elastic polyamide cage dampens vibrations and ensures smooth running within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. The bearing has standard radial clearance and requires a clean housing environment protected from contamination.
As a support bearing, this design absorbs high radial forces and also guides the shaft in the axial direction. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement. As a result, the bearing compensates for operational thermal expansion of the shaft without generating axial constraint forces.
With a bore of 75 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a width of 31 mm, the bearing determines the required installation space on the shaft and within the housing bore. Before fitting, check the fit dimensions of the connecting components to ensure a precise fit.
The designation ECP indicates an optimised internal design combined with a polyamide cage. This cage reduces the inertial forces in the rolling element guidance and ensures quiet operation. The inner ring can be removed from one side, allowing the rings to be fitted separately.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. The polyamide cage sets the upper temperature limit. Ensure that the lubricant you choose is suitable for this temperature range to help maintain a stable lubricating film during operation.
Open roller bearings do not have integrated sealing washers and are suitable for designs with external housing seals. They allow the use of application-specific greases or oil lubrication. External sealing rings protect the system from contaminants and moisture.
The dimensional accuracy complies with the ‘Normal’ tolerance class according to P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1). The running accuracy is specified to the more precise P6 class (corresponding to ABEC 3). This combination facilitates tight fitting tolerances whilst improving the concentricity of the rotating components.
