The SKF NJ2216 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing, with a bore of 80 mm and an outer diameter of 140 mm, offers high radial load capacity and single-sided axial guidance.
The NJ2216 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from SKF with an optimised internal design. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, this rolling bearing can accommodate very high radial forces. In the NJ version, the bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables it to function as a support bearing, guiding shafts in one axial direction whilst compensating for displacement in the opposite direction.
The bearing is primarily designed to withstand high radial loads. Thanks to the NJ flange arrangement, it also accommodates axial forces acting from one direction. As the inner ring can be removed from one side, the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately. This facilitates installation, particularly in the case of tight fits on the shaft or in the housing.
As a support bearing, the NJ design fixes the shaft in an axial direction whilst compensating for axial length changes in the opposite direction within the bearing. As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, sealing is provided by the surrounding housing structure. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rollers evenly within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
An NJ cylindrical roller bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This design enables the bearing to accommodate unidirectional axial forces. Furthermore, the inner ring can be pulled off on one side, which simplifies the fitting of the individual bearing rings onto the shaft and housing.
With an internal diameter of 80 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a width of 33 mm, the bearing is suitable for compact designs that require a high radial load-carrying capacity.
The designation ‘EC’ indicates an optimised internal design for targeted load distribution. The letter ‘J’ denotes a roller-guided cage made of pressed sheet steel, which is designed for standard speeds and industrial loads.
This cylindrical roller bearing combines the dimensional accuracy of class P0 or ABEC 1 with increased running accuracy in accordance with class P6 or ABEC 3. It therefore offers precise concentricity with standardised mounting dimensions for the shaft and bearing housing.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. This clearance is designed to suit standard fits on the shaft and housing, as well as normal operating conditions without any significant temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
Owing to its open design, which features no elastomeric seals and incorporates a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage, the NJ2216 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing is suitable for use in a temperature range from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. The actual temperature limit depends largely on the thermal stability of the selected lubricant.
