Cylindrical Roller Bearings SKF N305 ECP

The SKF N305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 25x62x17 mm, offers a separable free-running bearing solution for high radial loads.

This single-row N305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, designed purely as a radial bearing, can withstand high loads. With a bore of 25 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 17 mm, the component complies with standardised installation dimensions. SKF’s Explorer design features an optimised internal construction. As the open bearing is manufactured without an integrated seal, it can be flexibly lubricated with oil or grease. The design, which has no groove or lubrication bore on the outer ring, requires lubricant to be supplied via the housing environment.

What function does the N design fulfil in relation to axial length changes?

The N design is intended to specifically absorb radial forces whilst simultaneously allowing for the axial compensation of thermal length changes. The inner ring is fitted with two fixed guide flanges, whilst the raceway of the outer ring is flangeless. This design allows for axial displacement between the shaft and housing directly within the bearing, thereby preventing internal stresses. The non-locating bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements with separate axial fixation on the opposite side.

What are the characteristics of the polyamide cage and tolerance classes of the N305 ECP?

The integrated polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers evenly and contributes to low-friction and quiet operation. The operating temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees. The bearing has standard radial clearance. In terms of manufacturing tolerances, it combines dimensional accuracy to Class P0 or ABEC 1 with increased running accuracy to Class P6 or ABEC 3. As the outer ring is removable from both sides, the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately during assembly.

What are the dimensions of the N305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing?

The bearing has a bore of 25 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 17 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised dimensions for this size.

What characterises the N design in this cylindrical roller bearing?

The N design is characterised by two fixed shoulders on the inner ring and a shoulderless outer ring. This allows the outer ring to be moved axially in both directions and withdrawn, which is why it functions purely as a non-locating bearing.

What are the characteristics of the N305 ECP’s polyamide cage?

The polyamide cage guides the rollers with minimal play and dampens vibrations during operation. Furthermore, the material reduces the moment of inertia of the rotating parts and promotes smooth running.

What is the permissible temperature range for the cylindrical roller bearing?

The specified temperature range for the bearing is from -30 to +120 degrees. The thermal load capacity is largely determined by the polyamide cage fitted.

Does the N305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing have its own seal?

No, it is an open bearing without integrated seals. The surrounding structure must ensure that lubricant is retained and that the bearing is protected from contamination.

What are the bearing’s tolerance classes?

This component combines dimensional accuracy in tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 with enhanced running accuracy in class P6 or ABEC 3 to ensure precise concentricity.
