The FAG NJ226 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing combines a 130 mm bore with a brass cage for high radial loads and single-sided axial guidance.
The NJ226 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for industrial applications involving demanding radial loads. Designed as an open bearing, the unit operates directly within the machine’s lubrication circuit. With an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 40 mm, this FAG product provides a robust bearing arrangement with standardised normal tolerance in accordance with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1).
This bearing functions as a support bearing in designs subject to predominantly radial forces and single-sided axial loads. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing assembly to accommodate axial forces from one direction. In the opposite direction, the arrangement allows for axial displacement, which compensates for thermally induced changes in the shaft’s length. The inner ring can be removed from one side, which facilitates installation.
The design suffix M1 refers to the brass cage, which guides the rollers even under vibrations and higher acceleration forces. The material is suitable for mechanically demanding operating conditions. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius. The standard radial bearing clearance ensures balanced running behaviour under normal operating conditions, provided that standard fits are used on the shaft and housing. The outer ring is designed without a lubrication groove or lubrication bore.
This design is characterised by two solid flanges on the outer ring and one solid flange on the inner ring. This construction enables the bearing to withstand high radial loads and supports axial loads from one direction. The brass cage guides the row of rollers in a controlled manner, even under vibration.
The bore measures 130 mm, the outer diameter is 230 mm and the width is 40 mm. These dimensions comply with the standardised metric size and are suitable for precision-machined bearing seats on the shaft and housing.
As a support bearing, the NJ design features an inner ring that can be removed from one side, which makes installation easier. This arrangement allows axial displacement of the shaft in one direction, whilst the fixed side absorbs guiding forces from the opposite direction.
The permissible temperature range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. The open-type bearing design with a brass cage does not require elastomeric seals, which facilitates its use across the entire specified temperature range.
Without integrated sealing washers, the bearing is designed for housing constructions with external sealing, in which lubricating oil or grease can circulate directly. The outer ring is designed without a lubrication groove or lubrication bore.
P0/PN or ABEC 1 refers to the standardised normal tolerance class for rolling bearings. It defines the permissible dimensional and concentricity tolerances for standard industrial applications and is designed for precisely machined shafts and housing bores.
