Cylindrical Roller Bearings SKF NU2313 ECP/C3

The SKF NU2313 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 65x140x48 mm, provides a rigid idler bearing for high radial loads under thermal shaft expansion.

This single-row NU2313 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is designed purely as a support bearing. Thanks to two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring, the bearing compensates for axial length changes in the shaft directly in the rolling element area. The optimised internal design, in combination with cylindrical rollers, enables the bearing to accommodate very high radial loads. As this is an open rolling bearing without sealing rings, its use requires external sealing of the housing environment.

In which applications does the NU2313 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing prove its worth?

The NU2313 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used where high radial forces must be supported and axial displacement of the shaft occurs. Thanks to the inner ring, which can be removed from both sides, the assembly can be fitted in sections where space is limited. The open design allows for lubrication with lubricating oil or grease via the housing, as required.

What is the function of the polyamide cage and the C3 clearance?

The ECP design features a lightweight polyamide cage, which ensures smooth running of the cylindrical rollers. Together with the increased radial clearance (C3), rotational capability is maintained even when temperature differences between the inner and outer rings cause radial expansion. The bearing accommodates radial forces only; therefore, a separate fixed bearing is required in the design to provide axial guidance for the shaft.

What are the dimensions of the NU2313 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing?

The bearing has an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm. These dimensions determine the installation space required on the shaft and within the housing.

What does the NU design designation mean for this bearing?

The NU design features two solid flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side, and the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing during operation to compensate for axial displacement.

What does the bearing clearance specification C3 mean?

The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard range. This additional radial clearance is useful where tight fits or high operating temperatures are likely to cause the bearing clearance to decrease during operation.

What properties does the polyamide cage offer?

The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low inertia and helps to ensure quiet operation. The material is designed for the specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and elastically absorbs shock loads.

What are the bearing’s tolerance classes?

This bearing is manufactured to a dimensional accuracy of tolerance class P0 or standard tolerance (comparable to ABEC 1). The running accuracy is manufactured to the tighter tolerance class P6 (comparable to ABEC 3), which promotes precise concentricity.

How is the open cylindrical roller bearing lubricated?

As this is an open design without seals, lubrication is provided via the surrounding machine housing. Depending on the application, either grease or oil may be used; an external housing seal should be fitted to prevent the ingress of dirt.
