The SKF NU2210 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing, designed as a free bearing with a 50 mm bore, withstands high radial loads whilst minimising friction.
The NU2210 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. The combination of a 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 23 mm width provides a compact design with a high load-carrying capacity. Thanks to its optimised internal design and lightweight polyamide cage, the bearing operates with low vibration. In this open design without seals, lubrication is provided by the surrounding machinery within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
Typical applications for this radial bearing include shaft mountings where significant radial loads occur. The NU design functions purely as a non-locating bearing. As the inner ring has no flanges and can be removed from either side, the bearing compensates for axial length changes in the shaft directly within the bearing itself. This feature helps to prevent stress build-up in the shaft assembly when components heat up during operation. Furthermore, the ability to dismantle the bearing simplifies the assembly of the shaft and housing.
The suffixes denote material- and function-specific features for demanding operating conditions. The abbreviation ECP refers to an optimised internal geometry with a dimensionally stable polyamide cage, which dampens running noise and reduces friction. The increased radial clearance (C3) provides additional leeway for thermal expansion at high speeds or with tight fits. In combination with dimensional accuracy class P0 and increased running accuracy class P6, the bearing operates with dimensional stability and precise guidance.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be withdrawn from both sides, which facilitates installation. The bearing acts as a conventional non-locating bearing and compensates for temperature-induced changes in the length of the rotating shaft without restriction.
This cylindrical roller bearing has an inner diameter of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, this single-row component fits into many standard industrial housings and is suitable for direct mounting on corresponding shaft seats.
The suffix C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared with standard clearance. This increased clearance between the rollers and the raceways helps to prevent the rolling elements from seizing if tight fit clearances are selected or if significant temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation.
The abbreviation ECP stands for an optimised internal design featuring a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight and damping properties. This reduces centrifugal forces and running noise whilst ensuring smooth operation of the cylindrical rollers.
As this open roller bearing does not have integrated sealing washers, the lubricant is supplied via the housing design. An external seal protects the rollers from contamination and helps to prevent the selected lubricant from leaking within the operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The bearing combines dimensional accuracy P0 or ABEC 1 with the tighter running accuracy P6 or ABEC 3. This means that the outer ring complies with standard dimensions, whilst the higher running accuracy ensures improved concentricity and reduced vibrations during rotation.
