The N212 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager is a single-row non-locating bearing measuring 60x110x22 mm, offering high radial load-carrying capacity whilst allowing for axial displacement.
The N212 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager, as a single-row roller bearing, withstands high radial loads. With key dimensions of 60 mm bore diameter, 110 mm outer diameter and 22 mm width, this model features an open design. A polyamide cage guides the rollers with low friction between the raceways. With standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this design is suitable for industrial drives and shaft mountings.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used where high radial loads occur and the design requires a separate idler bearing. Thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, the component can withstand high radial forces. Typical applications are found in mechanical engineering in shaft mountings which, in addition to heavy radial loads, must also compensate for axial thermal expansion.
In the N design, the inner ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the outer ring is manufactured without flanges. This allows the outer ring to be pulled off from both sides, which simplifies the separate assembly of both bearing rings. During operation, the bearing compensates for axial changes in the shaft’s length internally without any binding. As the outer ring has neither lubrication holes nor lubrication grooves, the open design requires an external lubricant supply within the housing.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 60 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm. It is a single-row roller bearing in an open design without seals.
The flangeless outer ring can move axially in both directions relative to the roller set. As a result, the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing. It compensates for thermally induced linear expansion of the shaft during operation without generating axial stresses in the bearing assembly.
The designation TVP2 refers to a solid polyamide window cage. This material reduces the weight of the surrounding components, dampens running noise and ensures favourable friction characteristics. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The component is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance (CN). This standard clearance is designed for typical fits on shafts and housings, as well as for normal operating temperatures. It helps to ensure that the bearing retains the intended operating clearance after installation.
As the bearing is of an open design and the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied directly via the housing. Depending on the design specifications, either grease or lubricating oil may be used for this purpose, whilst external housing seals prevent the ingress of dirt.
This roller bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the international standard ABEC 1. This standard tolerance provides defined dimensional and concentricity accuracy for standardised applications in mechanical engineering.
