The 20212-TVP spherical roller bearing, measuring 60 × 110 × 22 mm, can withstand high radial loads and automatically compensates for misalignment caused by shaft deflection.
The 20212 -TVP spherical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with a spherical outer ring raceway, manufactured by FAG Wälzlager. With a bore of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm, this component primarily absorbs radial forces. Thanks to its barrel-shaped rolling elements, the bearing adapts to angular misalignments between the shaft and the housing. It features standard radial clearance and a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians prefer to use this bearing on rotating shafts where load-induced deflection or misalignment occurs. The spherical raceway counteracts edge stresses on the rolling elements when the shaft shifts slightly under load. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to high radial forces where automatic angular misalignment compensation is required. As this is an open design, the component integrates into lubricated housing assemblies.
The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes a polyamide cage that ensures smooth running and low friction. This material limits the weight of the moving mass and withstands typical accelerations during operation. The operating temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Due to the open design without integrated seals, lubricant is supplied directly via the surrounding bearing housing.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into suitable bearing housings and housing designs.
TVP refers to a solid cage made of polyamide. This material is characterised by good damping properties and low weight. It guides the rolling elements quietly and retains its dimensional stability within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The hollow spherical surface of the outer ring forms a spherical raceway for the barrel-shaped rollers. Consequently, in the event of elastic shaft deflection or misalignment, the inner ring and the set of rolling elements assume an angular position without any impermissible edge pressures being exerted on the roller bodies.
This roller bearing has standard radial clearance. Its dimensional and running accuracy complies with the standard tolerance P0/PN, which is also known internationally as ABEC 1 and is designed for standard industrial applications.
As the bearing is supplied without integrated sealing washers, lubrication is provided by grease or lubricating oil from the surrounding housing. A sufficient quantity of lubricant must be applied before start-up, whilst external housing seals must protect against contamination.
The specified operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the TVP polyamide cage and should always be taken into account when selecting a lubricant.
