The FAG 20315-MB spherical roller bearing, measuring 75 × 160 × 37 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and reliably compensates for misalignment.
The 20315 -MB spherical roller bearing from FAG is a single-row, angular-contact roller bearing designed for industrial applications. With a bore of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, it is primarily designed to accommodate heavy radial loads. Thanks to its barrel-shaped rollers, this design compensates for misalignment between the shaft and housing. The open bearing is suitable for designs where external seals and a targeted lubricant supply are provided.
This roller bearing is primarily used in applications involving high radial forces, particularly where shaft deflection or misalignment occurs. Typical applications include bearing locations in general mechanical engineering with demanding load profiles. The solid brass cage guides the rolling elements reliably, even under vibration and shock loads. Thanks to the angle-adjustable design, the rotational movement remains smooth even with slight misalignments.
The integrated brass cage gives the bearing high mechanical strength and thermal resistance within a temperature range of –30 to +150 degrees. Thanks to its solid construction, the cage withstands mechanical stresses during continuous operation. Manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), the component fits precisely into standardised bearing seats. Lubrication is carried out according to the specific application, using either grease or lubricating oil.
This roller bearing has an inner diameter of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm. These standardised key dimensions correspond to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This allows the component to be fitted precisely onto standard shafts and inserted into corresponding housing bores.
The suffix ‘MB’ denotes a solid brass cage that guides the barrel-shaped rollers. This type of cage is suitable for demanding operating conditions, as it is resistant to impact loads. Furthermore, the material performs well under thermal stress within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
The open design, which does not feature integrated sealing washers, allows for flexible lubrication with substances such as bearing grease or lubricating oil. Lubricants reach the raceways unhindered and dissipate heat directly. Protection against dirt and moisture is usually provided by an external housing seal.
Normal radial bearing clearance means that the clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways lies within the standardised range. This operating clearance is designed for typical fits and standard temperatures, so as to prevent stress build-up in the bearing. Alternative clearance levels may be considered where operating conditions deviate significantly from the norm.
In the internal configuration, barrel-shaped roller elements roll on a hollow-spherical ground outer ring raceway. This geometry allows the inner ring, together with the set of rollers, to tilt within the outer ring within certain angular limits. Angular misalignment or shaft deflection therefore do not lead to edge running or premature damage.
This bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. Both the metal components and the brass cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. When specifying the bearing, you should ensure that the lubricant used is also approved for the relevant operating temperature.
