The SKF 29326 E axial self-aligning roller bearing accommodates high unilateral axial loads at 130 × 225 × 58 mm and compensates for misalignment.
The 29326 E axial self-aligning roller bearing is a heavy-duty rolling bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. It primarily accommodates high axial forces in one direction whilst also transmitting any concurrent radial loads. Thanks to the hollow spherical housing raceway, the roller set self-aligns during operation, enabling the component to compensate for misalignment and elastic shaft deflection. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, the bearing complies with standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
This bearing is used in industrial bearing arrangements where very high axial thrust forces are present and where manufacturing-related misalignments or load-dependent shaft deflections need to be compensated for. As the bearing is designed to act on one side only, it specifically absorbs axial forces in a preferred direction. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The robust design ensures reliable power transmission even under demanding conditions.
In the Explorer version, the bearing is characterised by a refined internal geometry and optimised contact surfaces between the rollers and raceways. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the barrel-shaped rolling elements stably and withstands mechanical and thermal stresses. When selecting the bearing, it is important to note that axial self-aligning roller bearings require a minimum axial load during operation. This prevents slippage between the rolling elements and the raceways and contributes to a long service life for the bearing.
This bearing has an inside diameter of 130 mm at the shaft flange, an outside diameter of 225 mm at the housing flange, and a total width of 58 mm. These dimensions comply with the standardised industrial dimensions for axial self-aligning roller bearings.
The housing disc has a spherical, concave running surface. This allows the unit, comprising the shaft disc and roller set, to adjust its angular position within the housing. The bearing automatically compensates for static misalignment between the shaft and the housing, as well as dynamic shaft deflection, during operation.
The Explorer classification denotes SKF bearings with optimised material quality and an advanced internal geometry. Precisely matched surfaces improve stress distribution at the contact zones. This promotes smooth rolling behaviour and reduces internal friction losses under high axial loads.
The bearing is specified for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The components made from 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel and the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage can withstand these temperatures. In practical application planning, it is primarily the lubricant used that determines the actual thermal operating limit.
Axial-thrust roller bearings require a minimum axial load during operation to ensure that the barrel-shaped rollers roll along the raceways without slipping. If the load is too low or if the bearing is subjected solely to radial loads, the rollers could slide, which would cause increased wear and undesirable heating.
This design utilises a robust sheet steel cage. It guides the rolling elements precisely within their raceways and is characterised by high strength combined with low weight. The steel cage is compatible with all standard industrial lubricants and is suitable for the bearing’s entire temperature range.
