The SKF 54307 double-acting axial deep groove ball bearing accommodates axial forces in both directions and has dimensions of 30 × 68 × 47.2 mm.
The SKF 54307 axial deep-groove ball bearing guides shafts axially in both directions. Thanks to its double-acting design, this unit accommodates pure axial loads from both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage, this rolling bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 °C to +150 °C. It is manufactured to standard tolerances in accordance with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This roller bearing is suitable for designs in which axial forces occur alternately in both directions and axial shaft guidance is required. Due to its design, the bearing cannot accommodate purely radial forces; therefore, the bearing arrangement should be combined with a separate radial bearing. In conjunction with washers available separately, the bearing also allows for the compensation of misalignment.
The scope of supply comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing without washers. Suitable washers must be provided separately for angularly adjustable mounting. When installing, ensure that the contact surfaces of the shaft and housing components are clean so that the axial load is distributed evenly over the entire circumference of the rolling elements. As the bearing is not sealed, select a lubricant suitable for the operating temperature range of -30 °C to +150 °C.
With a bore of 30 mm, an external diameter of 68 mm and a width of 47.2 mm, these dimensions refer to the complete bearing unit when fitted.
As a double-acting design, this roller bearing absorbs axial forces from both directions. This type of bearing is not suitable for withstanding radial forces, which is why the shaft must be supported radially by a separate bearing.
When used in conjunction with suitable washers (available separately), the bearing can be adjusted for angular misalignment. This allows any misalignment between the shaft and the housing, caused by manufacturing or assembly, to be compensated for during operation.
The scope of delivery includes only the 54307 axial deep-groove ball bearing, without washers. If washers are required for installation, these must be purchased separately.
Designed for a temperature range of -30 °C to +150 °C, 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel and sheet steel cages are suitable for these thermal limits. The lubricant used in each case must be suitable for this range.
Manufactured to standard tolerances, the bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This classification meets the standard precision requirements in general mechanical engineering.
