The SKF 53201 axial deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 12 × 28 × 11.4 mm, supports single-direction axial forces in machine and fixture construction.
The 53201 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a single-direction axial bearing designed for shafts with a 12 mm diameter. This design accommodates axial forces only and guides shafts in a single direction. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6), the bearing features a sheet steel cage to guide the rolling elements. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +150 degrees. The product complies with standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
Design engineers primarily use this component where purely axial loads occur within a compact installation space. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to axial loads on one side, as well as in general machinery construction. As the bearing is only designed to accommodate axial forces, the design always requires separate radial guidance of the shaft. The separable design also facilitates the separate assembly of the shaft ring, rolling element set and spherical housing ring.
This design features a spherical housing disc and, in conjunction with a separately available shim, compensates for static misalignment. If installation-related angular misalignments occur between the housing surface and the shaft axis, the disc slides on the support surface and prevents excessive edge stresses. Please note the scope of supply when selecting the product: the item comprises the axial deep-groove ball bearing only. If required, select suitable spherical washers separately to match your housing seat.
The component has a bore of 12 mm, an external diameter of 28 mm and a total width of 11.4 mm. These compact dimensions allow it to be fitted into space-constrained assemblies that need to absorb purely axial forces.
As a single-direction axial bearing, the 53201 type accommodates axial forces from one direction only. The bearing provides axial support for the shaft but must under no circumstances be used to support radial loads.
The spherical contact surface of the housing disc, when used in conjunction with a suitable spherical washer, allows for adjustment. This compensates for misalignment between the shaft and the housing, thereby preventing localised overloads on the raceways.
The scope of delivery comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing, without a washer. If your bearing mounting requires angular compensation, please order the spherical washer as a separate accessory to suit your housing design.
Due to the combination of 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and a sheet steel cage, the permissible operating temperature ranges from -30 to +150 degrees. The limit values of the lubricant used must also be taken into account during operation.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to class ABEC 1 in the US system. This manufacturing precision meets the standard precision requirements in general mechanical engineering.
