The SKF 51313 axial deep groove ball bearing accommodates pure axial forces in one direction and is designed for shafts measuring 65 x 115 x 36 mm.
The 51313 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed as a separable bearing. It consists of a shaft ring, a housing ring and a guided ball set. The manufacturer, SKF, produces this model from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6) to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. With this type of bearing, you fit the components one after the other onto the shaft and into the surrounding housing. The open design makes it easier to apply lubricant directly whilst the bearing is in operation.
This rolling bearing supports rotating shafts axially in one direction. Designs subject to purely axial loads constitute the primary area of application, as the bearing must not absorb any radial forces. The assembly accommodates longitudinal forces only and guides the shaft in the axial direction. You should use this component wherever firm, play-free axial support is required.
Design engineers must provide flat and perpendicular mounting surfaces, as this type of bearing is not angle-adjustable. Even slight misalignments between the shaft and the housing lead to uneven load distribution across the rolling elements. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the balls within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. When designing, please note that the scope of supply comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing without shims.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 65 mm at the shaft flange. The external diameter of the housing flange is 115 mm, whilst the axial height is exactly 36 mm.
The design is designed to support only axial forces acting on the shaft from a single direction. By its very nature, the bearing cannot transmit radial loads and must therefore be supplemented in the system by suitable radial bearings.
No, this model does not have an adjustable angle. The contact surfaces on the shaft and housing must be machined to form an exact right angle to the axis of rotation in order to prevent edge stresses and premature wear of the components.
SKF specifies the assembly for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. Within this temperature range, the dimensional stability of the rolling bearing steel and the strength of the sheet steel cage are maintained during operation.
The bearing washers and balls are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This material is characterised by its dimensional stability and ensures precise guidance of the rolling elements under axial loads.
The cage, made of pressed sheet steel, keeps the balls at a uniform distance from one another. This prevents direct contact between the rolling elements, reduces friction and ensures an even load distribution across the raceway.
