The FAG 51306 axial deep-groove ball bearing reliably supports single-direction axial loads and has an outer diameter of 60 mm and a height of 21 mm.
The FAG 51306 axial deep-groove ball bearing reliably supports axial forces in one direction. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel, this axial bearing is characterised by its dimensional stability and load-carrying capacity. The open design consists of separate components such as a shaft ring, a housing ring and a guided ball cage. Thanks to this modular design, maintenance engineers and designers can assemble the individual components one after the other and apply lubricants directly to the contact zones of the rolling elements.
This axial bearing primarily absorbs axial forces along the shaft axis. Typical applications include vertical mountings, hoists, turntables and gear stages in general mechanical engineering. Important for the design: The bearing must not absorb any significant radial loads. Furthermore, the non-angle-adjustable design requires precisely machined, perpendicular contact surfaces on the shaft and housing to prevent edge running and uneven loads in the ball race.
The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along their raceway and maintains a constant distance between the balls. It withstands temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 °C and is compatible with standard industrial oils and rolling bearing greases. Compared with plastic cages, the sheet steel design retains its mechanical strength even under thermal stress. When installing the bearing, ensure that it always operates under a minimum axial load so that the balls roll in the grooves without slippage.
This roller bearing absorbs axial forces from a single direction. It consists of separate discs and a ball ring, which simplifies installation. Thanks to its standard roller bearing steel construction and robust sheet steel cage, the bearing remains dimensionally stable even under demanding continuous operation.
The bearing has an outer diameter of 60 mm and a height or width of 21 mm. Thanks to these compact dimensions, it is suitable for space-saving designs that perform specific axial guidance tasks in machine tools or gearboxes.
Axial deep-groove ball bearings are designed exclusively for loads in the axial direction. If additional transverse forces occur during operation, these must be absorbed by separate radial bearings, such as cylindrical roller bearings or deep-groove ball bearings. A purely radial load would damage the axial bearing within a short space of time.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +150 °C. Bearing washers, rolling elements and the sheet steel cage remain dimensionally stable within this range. The actual operating temperature is determined by the thermal load capacity of the grease or oil used.
The components can be fitted separately. First, position the tight-fitting shaft washer on the shaft, then insert the ball ring and finally fit the housing washer. Ensure that the contact surfaces are exactly at right angles, as this design cannot compensate for any misalignment of the shaft.
During operation, a constant axial force prevents the balls from sliding along the raceways rather than rolling. If slippage occurs, the lubricating film breaks down and wear increases. If the operating load is insufficient, spring washers or shims ensure that the bearing is supported without any play.
