The SKF 54410 double-acting axial deep groove ball bearing accommodates pure axial forces in both directions and has dimensions of 40 × 110 × 83.2 mm.
The SKF 54410 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a double-acting axial bearing designed to accommodate axial loads from both directions in mechanical engineering applications. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this component guides shafts in the axial direction. The dimensions are 40 mm bore diameter, 110 mm outer diameter and 83.2 mm mounting width. Fitted with a sheet steel cage, the design is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees. The bearing must not be subjected to radial loads.
This axial bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements where alternating or bidirectional axial forces occur. Typical applications include axial shaft guides with axial loads acting on both sides. As it transmits purely axial forces, the bearing arrangement requires a separate radial guide. The sheet steel cage and the 100Cr6 material provide a solid basis for industrial use under consistent lubrication conditions within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
When used in conjunction with suitable washers, the bearing is angularly adjustable to compensate for misalignment in the connected structure. Please note during planning that the scope of supply comprises solely the axial deep-groove ball bearing without washers. With standard tolerances in accordance with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, the model fits into standard fits used in general mechanical engineering. To ensure correct installation, match the shaft and housing seats to the component dimensions of 40x110x83.2 mm.
As a double-acting design, this bearing accommodates pure axial forces in both directions and guides the shaft axially in both directions. By its very design, this type is not suitable for radial loads, which is why it must always be combined with a separate radial bearing.
The roller bearing has a bore of 40 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a total width of 83.2 mm. These dimensions determine the design of the shaft and the housing seat to ensure that the bearing discs fit correctly and are properly aligned.
Angle adjustment is possible in conjunction with washers that must be fitted separately. For this item, the scope of delivery comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing, without washers. The use of spherical washers allows for the compensation of misalignments in the housing’s mounting surfaces caused by manufacturing or assembly.
The roller bearing components, made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage, are designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. For operation within these limits, the selected lubricant must also meet the relevant thermal requirements of the industrial application.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This standard tolerance offers proven dimensional and running accuracy for conventional mechanical engineering and allows installation in standardised housings and shaft seats without the need for custom-made parts.
SKF fits this bearing with a sheet steel cage. The cage guides the balls safely within the two raceway rings and is suitable for standard industrial use as well as for the specified temperature range up to +150 degrees.
