The SKF 53215 single-direction axial deep groove ball bearing, with a 75 mm bore and an 110 mm outer diameter, accommodates purely axial loads.
The SKF 53215 axial deep groove ball bearing is a separable rolling bearing designed to accommodate axial forces acting in one direction. With a bore diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a height of 28.3 mm, the design provides axial support for rotating shafts. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) with a guided ball-cage unit, this design operates to standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1.
The bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements where pure axial forces act in one direction and radial loads are supported by separate radial bearings. Thanks to the separable rings, the design allows for the separate assembly of the shaft ring, housing ring and ball-cage assembly. As the rolling elements transmit purely shear forces, no radial load must act on the raceways.
The spherical housing disc, when used in conjunction with a suitable spherical washer, enables the compensation of misalignment errors arising from the manufacturing process. The washer is not included with this product and must be supplied separately if required. In the case of rigid mounting without a washer, the axial bearing requires precisely perpendicular contact surfaces on the shaft and housing. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements within a temperature range of -30 to +150 °C.
A single-direction axial bearing with a spherical housing washer, manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. It supports axial forces in one direction and can be dismantled into individual washers during assembly.
The bore of the shaft disc measures 75 mm, the outer diameter of the housing disc is 110 mm and the overall height is 28.3 mm. These key dimensions determine how the unit fits into connecting parts and machine housings.
The component absorbs only axial forces acting in one direction. Radial loads must not act on the bearing; for this reason, designers must always provide a separate radial bearing for radial shaft support.
Thanks to its spherical housing disc, the bearing compensates for misalignment as soon as it is fitted together with a suitable shim. This item comprises only the thrust bearing without a shim, so the shim must be purchased separately.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +150 °C. Both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the sheet steel cage are designed to withstand these temperatures, provided that a suitable lubricant is used.
A profiled sheet steel cage is used inside. It keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and prevents the rolling elements from coming into contact with one another during rotation.
