The FAG 51102 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed to accommodate purely axial forces and has an outer diameter of 28 mm and a width of 9 mm.
With the 51102 axial deep-groove ball bearing, you are provided with an axial bearing from FAG made from standard rolling-element bearing steel. This design supports shafts in the axial direction and specifically separates guidance functions from radial components. Thanks to its modular design, the housing flange, shaft flange and the ball cage can be fitted separately. This facilitates maintenance and installation work within housings.
This rolling bearing is designed for applications in which single-sided thrust or compressive forces act parallel to the shaft. It is suitable for assemblies that accommodate purely axial loads and do not transmit any radial forces to this bearing. Pure axial deep-groove ball bearings do not support radial forces. They are suitable for moderate speeds and always require a flat, perpendicular mounting surface, as the design does not automatically compensate for misalignment between the shaft and the housing.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements at a uniform distance within the raceways and keeps the bearing weight low. Compared to solid cages, it saves installation space and enables a wide operating range. The bearing is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 °C. It is therefore suitable for industrial environments with varying thermal conditions, provided that the choice of lubricant and contact pressure are matched to the respective operating temperature.
A single-direction axial thrust bearing from FAG, which absorbs axial forces in one direction. The unit consists of separate discs and a guided set of balls made from standard rolling-bearing steel, and can be easily dismantled for installation.
This version has an external diameter of 28 mm and a height of 9 mm. These dimensions allow for space-saving use in compact housings and mechanical assemblies.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 °C. The integrated sheet steel cage and the roller bearing steel retain their dimensional stability within this range. Ensure that you use a lubricant that is approved for the target temperature.
No, axial deep-groove ball bearings of this type are designed exclusively to support axial loads. Radial forces must be absorbed by a separate radial bearing – such as a standard deep-groove ball bearing or a cylindrical roller bearing – fitted on the same shaft.
The housing disc, shaft disc and ball ring are not permanently connected to one another. You fit the components one after the other onto the shaft and into the housing, which simplifies maintenance, replacement and visual inspection.
The cage separates the rolling elements, prevents them from coming into contact with one another and thus reduces friction and heat build-up. The sheet metal design offers high stability whilst being lightweight and is suitable for all standard greases and industrial oils.
