The FAG 53311 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates unilateral axial forces and has dimensions of 55 × 105 × 39.3 mm.
The FAG 53311 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a separable rolling bearing designed for applications involving purely axial loads in one direction. With a bore of 55 mm, an outside diameter of 105 mm and a height of 39.3 mm, this component provides axial support for shafts. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and fitted with a guided sheet steel cage, the design is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This thrust bearing absorbs high axial forces acting parallel to the axis of rotation. The bearing must not bear radial loads, which is why it should be combined with a separate radial bearing in designs. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering at bearing locations subject to purely one-way axial loads. As it is designed for axial thrust, the component guides the shaft in one direction. This design is suitable for industrial plant where shaft forces need to be specifically transferred into the machine housing.
The 533 series features a spherical housing washer. In conjunction with a separately available shim, the bearing compensates for misalignment or manufacturing-related skew between the housing and the shaft. Please note that the scope of delivery for this item comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing without a shim. For an angular-contact bearing arrangement, you will need the appropriate spherical washer. During assembly, fit the shaft washer with a tight fit onto the shaft, whilst the housing washer is centred in the housing.
A single-direction axial roller bearing with a bore diameter of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 105 mm and a height of 39.3 mm. It consists of a shaft washer, a steel sheet ball cage and a spherical housing washer. This design accommodates purely axial loads and can be fitted with adjustable angular alignment when used in combination with a washer.
This axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed exclusively to withstand axial forces acting in a single direction. The component’s geometry does not allow it to transmit radial forces. If your application involves combined loads, you must combine the component with a separate radial bearing that provides support perpendicular to the shaft axis.
The scope of supply comprises only the 53311 axial deep-groove ball bearing, consisting of a shaft washer, a cage with balls and a spherical housing washer. Washers for alignment in the event of misalignment are not included. If your housing bore is not of the appropriate spherical design, please order the spherical washer separately as an accessory.
Thanks to being manufactured from 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and fitted with a sheet steel cage, the permissible temperature range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. For practical use, you should ensure that the lubricant used is also suitable for the ambient temperatures encountered during operation.
The component complies with tolerance class P0/PN, which is also known internationally as ABEC 1. This standard class fully meets the standard requirements of general mechanical engineering with regard to dimensional, geometric and running accuracy. It ensures a precise fit with standard shaft and housing tolerances.
Assembly is carried out in separate stages, as the bearing can be dismantled. The shaft ring with the smaller internal diameter is positioned on the shaft with a tight fit. The ball cage is fitted axially before the housing washer is inserted into the housing bore. During assembly, care must be taken to ensure that the contact surfaces are clean and that a minimum axial load is applied.
