The SKF 52316 double-acting axial deep groove ball bearing (65x140x79 mm) accurately accommodates high axial forces in both directions.
The 52316 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a specialised rolling bearing designed to accommodate purely axial forces. As this bearing acts in both directions, it guides shafts precisely in two axial directions. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6), this design covers a wide temperature range from –30 to +150 degrees. The integrated sheet steel cage reliably guides the rolling elements in the raceways and ensures smooth running under industrial operating conditions.
This design accommodates axial loads that occur alternately or in both directions. Typical applications are found in assemblies and industrial plant with clearly defined axial shaft guidance. Due to their design, axial deep groove ball bearings are intended solely for axial forces and do not transmit radial forces. To accommodate any transverse forces that may occur, it is therefore necessary to combine them specifically with separate radial bearings in the bearing arrangement.
Unlike single-direction bearings, the double-direction variant accommodates axial forces in both axial directions. The bearing is not angularly adjustable, and the product range does not include shims. Precisely perpendicular contact surfaces on the housing and shaft prevent edge stresses during operation. Thanks to manufacture to standard tolerances (P0/PN or ABEC 1), the component can be seamlessly integrated into standard fits.
The double-acting design enables axial forces to be absorbed in both axial directions for axial shaft guidance. The component is made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
The dimensions are 65 mm bore diameter, 140 mm outer diameter and 79 mm overall width. These standardised dimensions allow for a precise fit when installed in housings and on shafts with corresponding mounting dimensions.
No, this version is not angle-adjustable. The contact surfaces on the housing and shaft must be aligned at right angles to the axis of rotation, as misalignment in rigid axial deep-groove ball bearings leads to uneven load distribution and premature wear.
Axial deep-groove ball bearings are designed exclusively for axial loads and do not support radial forces. If transverse forces occur at the installation point, these must be absorbed by a separate, additionally fitted radial bearing.
Manufacture is carried out in accordance with standard tolerance class P0 or PN (comparable to ABEC 1). This level of precision meets the requirements of general mechanical engineering and ensures a precise fit on the shaft and within the bearing housing.
The scope of supply includes the double-acting axial deep-groove ball bearing without shims. If a design requires spherical housing washers or shims to compensate for misalignment, these components must be specified separately.
