The FAG 53306 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates unilateral axial forces with a 30 mm bore, 60 mm outer diameter and 22.6 mm overall height.
The FAG 53306 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed as a single-direction rolling bearing that accommodates high axial forces in one direction. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this bearing features a sheet steel cage and complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. It is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. Radial loads must not act on the bearing, as the design is intended purely for axial guidance.
Design engineers and maintenance personnel use this bearing type wherever a shaft needs to be supported in the axial direction. The 53306 axial deep groove ball bearing is primarily used in vertical shaft arrangements and designs subject to purely axial loads, provided that only one-sided axial loads occur. As the 533 series features a spherical housing washer, the component, when used in combination with a suitable shim, enables the compensation of static angular misalignment between the housing and the shaft.
This model does not include a shim in the scope of supply and features a spherical housing washer. If the contact surface in the housing is not perpendicular to the shaft axis, the bearing will only compensate for misalignment when used in conjunction with a separately available shim featuring a hollow spherical mating surface. Before installation, check the mounting dimensions: 30 mm shaft diameter, 60 mm outer diameter and 22.6 mm overall height. Also ensure that the lubricant is suitable for the temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
This roller bearing accommodates only axial loads acting in one direction. It supports the shaft on one side and guides it in the axial direction. Due to its design, the component cannot accommodate radial forces; therefore, a separate radial bearing must be incorporated into the system to handle radial loads.
The bearing has a 30 mm bore on the shaft flange. The outer diameter of the housing flange is 60 mm, whilst the overall height is 22.6 mm. These dimensions must be taken into account precisely when designing the connecting structure and the surrounding bearing housing.
The housing washer in this series is curved in the shape of a spherical ring. To compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing caused by manufacturing or assembly, a suitable shim with a concave spherical mating surface is required. This shim is not included with the bearing and must be supplied separately if required.
FAG fits this model with a sheet steel cage. The cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceway and prevents them from coming into contact with one another. It is characterised by its low weight and is designed for the bearing’s standard operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
The designations P0 and PN denote standard tolerances in accordance with current standards and correspond, in international terms, to the ABEC 1 classification. They define the permissible dimensional and geometric deviations of the bearing washers. For standard industrial applications in general mechanical engineering, this tolerance class meets the usual requirements.
Both the bearing washers and the balls are made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. This case-hardened chrome steel offers high wear resistance and fatigue resistance under constant compressive stress. The material retains its strength and dimensional stability within the specified range of -30 to +150 degrees.
