The 51202 axial deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager is designed for shafts with a 15 mm bore and accommodates single-direction axial forces.
The 51202 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates axial loads exclusively and supports shafts in one direction. The unit consists of a shaft ring, a housing ring and a guided ball set with a sheet steel cage. Manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, this design covers a temperature range from -30 to +150 degrees. Designs incorporating this rolling bearing require separate support for any radial forces that may occur, as the ball raceways are aligned purely axially.
This roller bearing is used in designs where purely axial forces in one direction need to be absorbed. This design supports shafts in the axial direction and is designed for operating environments without misalignment. As this design is not angularly adjustable, it is mounted in housings with aligned contact surfaces. Without additional shims, the bearing rests directly against the mating surfaces.
The two discs of this bearing are dimensionally different for functional reasons: the shaft disc has a ground bore with a diameter of 15 mm for a tight fit on the shaft, whilst the housing disc has a slightly larger bore to prevent contact. During assembly, the installation direction determines how force is transmitted via the sheet steel cage and the rolling elements. Radial loads must not be applied to the assembly.
This separable roller bearing is designed to accommodate purely axial forces from a single direction. The unit comprises a shaft disc with a 15 mm bore, a housing disc with an outer diameter of 32 mm, and a set of rolling elements housed in a sheet steel cage.
The bore of the shaft washer is 15 mm, the outer diameter of the housing washer is 32 mm, and the overall height or width of the assembled bearing unit is 12 mm.
Due to their design, axial deep-groove ball bearings are not suitable for withstanding radial loads. If radial forces occur, separate radial bearings must be fitted on the shaft to provide guidance and prevent damage to the axial raceways.
Model 51202 features flat contact discs and is not angle-adjustable. The contact surfaces in the housing and on the shaft must be aligned at right angles to the axis of rotation, as misalignment leads to uneven load distribution and increased wear.
Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and fitted with a sheet steel cage, the bearing unit is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees. The specific thermal operating limit is determined by the lubricant used.
The component complies with the standard tolerance class P0 or PN as per ISO, as well as the ABEC 1 rating. This accuracy class meets the standard requirements for axial guides in general mechanical engineering.
