The SKF 53202 single-direction axial deep groove ball bearing with a 15 mm bore absorbs axial forces and compensates for misalignment.
The 53202 axial deep-groove ball bearing supports shafts in the axial direction. SKF manufactures this single-row unit from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage. With dimensions of a 15 mm bore diameter, a 32 mm outer diameter and a width of 13.3 mm, this version complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). The component is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 °C to +150 °C.
This rolling bearing is specifically designed to absorb axial forces from a single direction. In axially loaded bearing arrangements, the shaft collar guides the rotating shaft, whilst radial forces must be supported separately by radial bearings. Due to its design, the component is not intended for purely radial loads. The guided sheet steel cage keeps the rolling elements at a uniform distance within the ball raceway and ensures smooth operation.
The bearing features a spherical housing washer and is supplied without a shim. If manufacturing-related misalignments or alignment errors occur between the housing seat and the shaft, the component can be fitted with adjustable angular alignment. This requires a separately supplied hollow spherical washer. The spherical contact surface compensates for static angular misalignments in the connecting parts, thereby promoting an even load distribution across the balls.
With an internal diameter of 15 mm, an external diameter of 32 mm and a height of 13.3 mm, the bearing supports axial loads on shafts with a diameter of 15 mm.
Due to their design, axial deep-groove ball bearings are intended solely to support axial loads. In the case of combined loads, additional radial bearings must be fitted onto the shaft to support radial forces.
The housing washer has a spherical contact surface. When used in conjunction with a separately available shim, the washer aligns itself within the housing and compensates for any manufacturing-related misalignment between the shaft and the housing.
The scope of supply comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing itself. If the housing design has a flat mounting surface and angular misalignment needs to be compensated for, a suitable spherical washer must be supplied separately.
As it is manufactured from standard 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and features a sheet steel cage, the bearing is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 °C to +150 °C. The lubricant selected should be suitable for this temperature range.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This standard level of precision is suitable for typical industrial applications in mechanical engineering.
