FAG 7334 -B-MP angular contact ball bearing: A single-row, open rolling bearing with a 170 mm bore, brass cage and a 40-degree contact angle for combined loads.
The FAG 7334 -B-MP angular contact ball bearing accommodates both radial forces and single-sided axial forces simultaneously. This single-row rolling bearing has a bore of 170 mm, an outer diameter of 360 mm and a width of 72 mm. As it is manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6 and features an open design without sealing washers, it is suitable for lubricated assemblies subjected to combined load conditions.
Due to its design, the 7334 -B-MP angular contact ball bearing transmits axial forces in one direction via its angled raceways. The nominal contact angle of 40 degrees gives the bearing axial load-carrying capacity whilst simultaneously accommodating radial loads. Typical applications include powertrains and shaft mountings where shafts must be guided under defined axial forces. The single-row bearing is often mounted in conjunction with a second bearing for this purpose.
The suffix ‘MP’ denotes a solid brass window cage. This cage is characterised by mechanical strength and good running properties, which are advantageous in the event of shock loads or vibrations. As this bearing is designed for temperatures ranging from -20 to +200 degrees and has the standard radial clearance, it can be fitted in oil- or grease-lubricated housings. Before installation, care must be taken to ensure the correct lubrication and the correct axial orientation of the ring shoulders.
This single-row angular contact ball bearing has an inside diameter of 170 mm, an outside diameter of 360 mm and a width of 72 mm. The bearing has a contact angle of 40 degrees, a brass cage and an open design. It accommodates radial loads as well as unilateral axial loads.
The contact angle describes the line of force transmission between the inner ring, the balls and the outer ring relative to the radial plane. At an angle of 40 degrees (designation B), the bearing absorbs axial forces, making it particularly suitable for axially loaded guides.
The designation ‘MP’ stands for a solid brass window cage. The brass cage offers high resistance to vibrations, precise guidance at varying speeds and thermal stability within the specified operating range of -20 to +200 degrees.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated seals or cover plates. Lubricant reaches the rolling elements and raceways unimpeded, making the bearing suitable for recirculating lubrication or centralised oil baths. The surrounding bearing housing provides protection against contamination.
The bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -20 to +200 degrees. Both the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the brass cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. When designing the bearing, the chosen lubricant should also be selected to suit the specific operating temperature.
This roller bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN (comparable to ABEC 1). This ensures dimensional, geometric and running accuracy in accordance with standards for standardised industrial applications. The marking ensures interchangeability and a precise fit on cylindrical shaft seats and in housing bores.
