The SKF 7314 BECBP angular contact ball bearing, with a 70 mm bore and a 40-degree contact angle, is designed for combined loads.
The single-row angular contact ball bearing 7314 BECBP accommodates high radial forces and unidirectional axial forces. Thanks to its angular raceways, this rolling bearing, made from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6), effectively transfers axial loads. This SKF design features a standard radial clearance. In the Explorer version, the open bearing combines dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 with running accuracy to tolerance class P5.
It is primarily used in shaft mountings where combined loads consisting of radial and high axial forces occur. Due to its 40-degree contact angle, the bearing effectively supports axial loads in one direction. As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, it must be integrated into existing lubrication systems using oil or grease, and an external housing seal is required.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements quietly and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Thanks to factory-set alignment, you can pair individual bearings from this series: in an O or X arrangement, the bearing pair has a defined, low axial clearance. This simplifies the assembly of bearing sets, as it eliminates the need for time-consuming manual adjustment of the axial clearance.
This single-row roller bearing has an inner diameter of 70 mm, an outer diameter of 150 mm and a width of 35 mm. It features a polyamide cage and a contact angle of 40 degrees. The tolerance class is specified as P6 for dimensional accuracy and P5 for running accuracy.
As a single-row angular contact ball bearing, it accommodates both radial and axial forces in exactly one direction. To accommodate axial forces acting in both directions, fit a second bearing in a mirror-image position within the bearing set. When arranged in pairs in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial play is established in the system.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. In addition to the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, these limits are primarily determined by the polyamide cage used. To ensure proper operation, the lubricant used must also be approved for the relevant operating temperature.
This is an open bearing without its own sealing washers or cover plates. Lubricants can come into direct contact with the raceways, which is why the bearing assembly must be protected from dirt, moisture and lubricant loss by the surrounding housing. Regular maintenance and relubrication depend on the chosen lubrication scheme.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line connecting the points of contact between the ball and the raceways relative to the radial plane. A nominal contact angle of 40 degrees enables a high axial load-carrying capacity in one direction. Angular contact ball bearings with this angle are suitable for applications with a significant axial load component.
