The SKF 7311 BECBP angular contact ball bearing, with a 55 mm bore and a 40-degree contact angle, offers high load-carrying capacity for unilateral axial and radial loads.
The SKF 7311 BECBP angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) in the Explorer design. In this open bearing, the raceways of the inner and outer rings are offset relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. With a bore of 55 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 29 mm, this design accommodates simultaneously acting radial and axial forces. The design does not require an integrated seal and has a standard radial clearance.
The bearing is designed for applications where radial loads occur in combination with axial guiding forces in a single direction. As axial forces can, by design, only be accommodated in one direction, in practice the bearing is usually operated in conjunction with a second bearing mounted in the opposite direction. The version with a cylindrical outer ring without a flange supports precise axial and radial guidance of the supported shaft.
This model combines dimensional accuracy to Class P6 with running accuracy to Class P5. These reduced manufacturing tolerances contribute to high concentricity during rotating operation. Thanks to the design for paired arrangement, a defined low axial clearance is achieved when assembling a bearing pair in an O or X configuration. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements and is designed for an operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The single-row bearing from SKF has a contact angle of 40 degrees and can accommodate combined radial and single-direction axial loads. Manufactured from 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel in the Explorer design, and with tolerance classes P6 for dimensions and P5 for running characteristics, the component is designed for precise shaft guidance.
The main dimensions are 55 mm internal diameter (bore), 120 mm external diameter and 29 mm width. The outer ring has no flange or groove. These dimensions allow for installation in suitable housing and shaft seats.
The polyamide cage separates the rolling elements and guides them within the bearing. Thanks to the material it is made of, it dampens mechanical vibrations during operation. The cage is specified for use in a temperature range of between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius.
The contact angle describes the inclination of the line of contact between the balls and the raceways relative to the radial plane. An angle of 40 degrees gives the bearing axial load-carrying capacity in one direction; however, during operation, it requires a corresponding counter-support to accommodate the load.
The bearing is designed for installation in pairs. If two of these bearings are fitted opposite each other in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial play develops. When used individually, the single bearing has the standard radial play.
As the bearing is designed as an open type without its own sealing washers, lubrication is supplied via the surrounding housing. Depending on the operating conditions, lubricating oils or greases that cover the permissible temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius are suitable.
