The SKF 33215 tapered roller bearing accommodates high radial and axial loads simultaneously, whilst maintaining compact dimensions of 75 × 130 × 41 mm.
This single-row SKF 33215 tapered roller bearing belongs to the radial roller bearing group and is designed as a complete rolling bearing. Thanks to the line contact between the tapered rollers and the raceways, the component transmits high loads whilst maintaining high rigidity. The SKF Explorer design features optimised internal geometry and precision-finished surfaces on the rollers and raceways. The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The bearing is used where bearing arrangements must withstand combined loads consisting of radial forces and unidirectional axial forces. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering, as well as in gearbox stages and industrial shafts. As single-row tapered roller bearings, by their design, can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, in practice they are usually fitted in pairs in an O or X arrangement with a second bearing mounted in the opposite direction.
The integrated sheet steel cage precisely maintains the spacing between the rolling elements and withstands mechanical stresses during day-to-day operation. At the same time, manufacture to standard tolerances (tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1) ensures a dimensionally accurate fit on the 75 mm shaft and in the 130 mm housing. One advantage of this design is its disassemblability: the inner ring with roller set and the outer ring can be fitted separately, which facilitates maintenance work and bearing adjustment on machinery.
The internal diameter is 75 mm, the external diameter is 130 mm and the overall width is 41 mm. These standardised dimensions allow for direct replacement in existing assemblies.
The Explorer class features advanced bearings with optimised internal geometry and refined contact surfaces. This design improves the rolling behaviour of the tapered rollers and contributes to exceptionally smooth running.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees. Within this temperature range, the bearing rings and the integrated sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability provided they are lubricated in accordance with the specifications.
The outer ring can be completely separated from the inner ring, including the cage and set of rollers. This design simplifies installation and allows for precise adjustment of the axial bearing clearance during assembly.
The bearings are manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. They are suitable for standard industrial applications with typical requirements for concentricity and fitting accuracy.
Due to its design, the bearing withstands high radial forces as well as axial forces in one direction. To accommodate axial forces acting in both directions, users combine two bearings in a mirror-image configuration.
