The 33024 tapered roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager, measuring 120 × 180 × 48 mm, offers a high load-carrying capacity for combined radial and axial loads in industrial applications.
The 33024 tapered roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in a standard design, engineered for demanding applications in mechanical engineering. With a bore of 120 mm, an outer diameter of 180 mm and a width of 48 mm, this component from FAG Wälzlager accommodates radial forces and single-sided axial forces. The angled rollers create a line-contact arrangement on the raceways, which contributes to the high rigidity of the entire bearing assembly.
Designs involving combined radial and axial loads constitute the primary area of application for this series. Typical applications can be found in mechanical engineering and gearbox construction for shaft mountings with single-sided guidance. As the single-row bearing only accommodates axial forces in one direction, in practice it is usually fitted in pairs in an O or X arrangement with a mirror-image mating bearing.
The roller bearing features a sheet steel cage which guides the rolling elements and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. The design in accordance with tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1) defines the dimensional and concentricity accuracy for normal installation conditions. A design advantage lies in its disassembly: the outer ring can be fitted separately from the inner ring, together with the set of rollers, which facilitates handling during installation and maintenance.
The dimensions are 120 mm bore diameter, 180 mm outer diameter and 48 mm width. These standardised dimensions enable a precise fit when installed on machined shafts and in corresponding housing bores.
Due to its design, the single-row bearing absorbs both radial and axial forces from a single direction simultaneously. To provide axial guidance on both sides of a shaft, a second tapered roller bearing must be mounted in an X or O configuration opposite the first.
The outer ring can be removed separately from the inner ring and its set of rollers. This separability makes assembly easier, as both bearing shells can be pressed in or drawn out independently of one another.
The standard version is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the bearing rings, rollers and the guided sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability provided they are properly lubricated.
This designation refers to the standard tolerance class for rolling bearings. It defines the permissible limits for dimensional and concentricity accuracy in standardised industrial applications.
