The FAG 32021-X tapered roller bearing can accommodate high radial and single-direction axial loads and measures 105 × 160 × 35 mm.
The FAG 32021 -X tapered roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing comprising an inner ring, a roller cage and a separate outer ring. Due to its design, the truncated conical rolling elements roll on the raceways, enabling this bearing to transmit combined forces. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. With a bore of 105 mm, an outside diameter of 160 mm and a width of 35 mm, the unit is suitable for demanding shaft mountings in mechanical engineering.
This single-row tapered roller bearing accommodates high radial forces as well as axial forces from one direction. Typical applications include shaft mountings subject to combined loads in general mechanical engineering. As a single bearing can only support axial forces from one side, users usually fit the component in pairs with a second bearing positioned opposite it in an X or O arrangement. This arrangement enables the rotating shaft to be guided without play or with a specific preload.
The integrated sheet steel cage guides the tapered rollers precisely and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. This reduces friction and keeps wear to a minimum during operation. Furthermore, the component is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. As the 32021-X tapered roller bearing can be dismantled, users can fit the inner ring with the roller set separately from the outer ring, which simplifies installation and lubrication.
With an internal diameter of 105 mm, an external diameter of 160 mm and a total width of 35 mm, the component has standardised key dimensions. This enables it to be fitted precisely into housings and onto shafts of the corresponding dimensions.
Thanks to its angular contact raceways, this bearing can accommodate high radial forces as well as axial forces in one direction. To accommodate axial loads from both directions, it is fitted in combination with a second tapered roller bearing arranged in a mirror-image configuration.
The designation P0 or PN corresponds to the standard tolerance class for rolling bearings, which is classified as ABEC 1 in the US. It defines the permissible dimensional, geometric and running accuracies designed for general mechanical engineering applications.
The operating temperature range is specified as -30 to +120 degrees. Within this temperature range, the components retain their dimensional stability. The lubricant should always be selected to suit the specific operating temperature range of the application.
Tapered roller bearings are not self-retaining in design. The inner ring, together with the set of rollers and the cage, forms a single unit, whilst the outer ring has no flange. This allows users to mount the inner and outer rings independently of one another onto the shaft and housing.
As a complete tapered roller bearing, this design comprises the inner ring with a roller cage and a sheet steel cage, as well as the corresponding outer ring. After both components have been fitted separately, they are aligned with one another during the assembly of the unit.
