The SKF 23130 CC/W33 spherical roller bearing, measuring 150 x 250 x 80 mm, can handle heavy loads and compensates for misalignment.
The 23130 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is an open roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications involving combined loads. With an inner diameter of 150 mm, an outer diameter of 250 mm and a width of 80 mm, the design can withstand high radial forces. The 100Cr6 material gives the components high dimensional stability. Thanks to the integrated sheet steel cage, the roller sets remain precisely guided even under continuous load. The component is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius.
Design engineers select this design primarily for heavy-duty shaft mountings where deflection or misalignment between the housing and the shaft may occur. Thanks to the hollow spherical raceway in the outer ring, the bearing can be adjusted to compensate for angular misalignment. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering on shafts subjected to combined loads. As the bearing is open at both ends, it can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems using oil or grease.
The designation W33 denotes an annular lubrication groove with bore holes in the outer ring. This feature facilitates relubrication whilst the bearing is installed, as the lubricant reaches directly between the rows of rollers. In addition to the standard dimensional accuracy PN, this design is characterised by the tighter running accuracy of tolerance class P5. The improved concentricity reduces vibrations in the system and ensures smooth running with normal radial bearing clearance.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 150 mm, an external diameter of 250 mm and a width of 80 mm. These dimensions comply with the metric standard series for self-aligning roller bearings of this size and determine the required installation space in the bearing housing and on the shaft.
The designation W33 indicates a circumferential lubrication groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring. This design allows fresh lubricant to be fed directly into the bearing via the bearing housing. This ensures that the lubricant is distributed evenly across both rows of rollers.
This rolling bearing has a standard radial clearance. This standard clearance is suitable for normal operating temperatures and typical fits on the shaft and housing. It provides sufficient freedom of movement for the rolling elements during operation without causing excessive bearing play.
As an open bearing, this variant deliberately does not feature integrated sealing washers. This ensures that the interior remains fully accessible for external lubricant supply, whilst grease or lubricating oil can circulate freely. In this design, protection against dirt and moisture is provided by external housing seals.
The bearing can be used within a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The fact that it is manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) and fitted with a sheet steel cage helps to ensure the dimensional stability of the rolling elements and raceways within this temperature range.
This component combines the standard dimensional accuracy of PN with the enhanced running accuracy of class P5. Whilst the mating dimensions comply with standard tolerances, the inner and outer rings have tighter concentricity tolerances. This ensures low-vibration operation of the shaft.
