The SKF 22332 CCJA/W33VA405 spherical roller bearing measures 160 × 340 × 114 mm and is specifically designed for oscillating loads in demanding industrial applications.
The SKF 22332 CCJA/W33VA405 self-aligning roller bearing is an open roller bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) for heavy-duty industrial applications. With a bore of 160 mm, an outer diameter of 340 mm and a width of 114 mm, this roller bearing can accommodate high radial loads. The design features a robust sheet steel cage and is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees. Workshop managers and purchasers will find this a durable solution for heavily loaded large bearings.
This specialised bearing is primarily intended for use under oscillating loads, for example in vibrating screens and vibrating machines. Severe vibrations and cyclic shock loads place extreme demands on the bearing in such applications. The self-aligning roller bearing design compensates for shaft misalignment without generating additional residual stresses. Plant operators use this design primarily in screening and vibration technology, where continuous vibrations and high impact forces act on the bearing locations.
The significantly increased radial clearance provides the necessary compensation for thermal expansion and deformations during vibrating operation. When the bearing heats up during operation, this radial clearance is reduced, allowing the bearing to roll freely without seizing. In addition, the tight tolerances – bore tolerance P5 and outer diameter tolerance P6 – ensure a precise fit on the shaft and in the housing. As the outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding structure.
With an internal diameter of 160 mm, an external diameter of 340 mm and a width of 114 mm, the component corresponds to the dimensions of size 22332. These dimensions allow it to be fitted into heavy-duty machinery. Thanks to its open design, the bearing can be integrated directly into the housing system.
Dynamic vibrational loads and continuous friction often result in elevated operating temperatures during operation. A significantly increased bearing clearance allows the inner and outer rings to expand thermally without the rolling elements becoming jammed. This ensures that sufficient operating clearance is maintained even during high peak loads whilst the bearing is in operation.
The operating temperature range is specified as -30 to +200 degrees. The component, made from 100Cr6 roller bearing steel with a sheet steel cage, is suitable for both cold environments and applications involving high heat generation. When selecting the design, it is important to ensure that the lubricant used is suitable for the actual operating temperature range.
With a bore tolerance of P5 and an outside diameter tolerance of P6, tighter dimensional deviations are achieved than with standard tolerances. The precise fit reduces fretting corrosion and relative movement between the shaft, bearing ring and housing. This counteracts premature wear of the interference fits under vibrational loads.
As the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding housing or through lateral feeders directly to the roller sets. As an open bearing without integrated seals, it requires an external housing seal for operation.
This special design is intended for use in vibrating screens and systems subject to vibrational loads and high centrifugal forces. Typical applications include vibrating screen systems and vibration technology involving high acceleration forces. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along the raceway even during rapid changes in acceleration.
