The SKF 23124 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing, with dimensions of 120x200x62 mm and P5 precision, offers reliable load-carrying capacity under heavy radial loads.
The 23124 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. It accommodates high radial forces as well as combined axial forces and compensates for misalignment between the shaft and housing through angular movement. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and featuring a sheet steel cage, this design is rated for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +200 degrees. The open bearing allows for direct lubricant supply whilst the bearing is in operation.
This roller bearing is particularly suitable for heavy machinery with shaft diameters of 120 mm, where shaft deflection or misalignment may occur during operation. Typical applications include heavy-duty industrial drives, conveyor technology and large rotating units. Thanks to its internal geometry, the bearing dynamically compensates for angular misalignment without causing an excessive increase in friction. This protects adjacent machine components and ensures smooth running characteristics under high radial loads.
The combination of standard dimensional accuracy (PN) and increased running accuracy in tolerance class P5 reduces runout error during operation. This minimises vibrations and running irregularities at medium to high speeds. The suffix W33 denotes a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. Maintenance personnel use this to apply fresh lubricant symmetrically and directly between both rows of rollers, which facilitates the distribution of the lubricating film inside the bearing.
Two rows of barrel-shaped rollers on a shared hollow spherical outer ring raceway provide a high radial load-carrying capacity whilst compensating for misalignment. The bearing features a sheet steel cage and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees.
The internal diameter (bore) is 120 mm, the external diameter is 200 mm and the overall width is 62 mm. With these standardised dimensions, the component meets typical requirements in industrial mechanical engineering.
W33 denotes a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This allows grease or lubricating oil to be fed directly and evenly into the interior of the rolling bearing, without the need for the lubricant to be laboriously applied via the end faces.
The bore and the outer diameter comply with the tolerances of the standard PN class, which facilitates installation in standard housings. The running accuracy, however, complies with the tighter P5 tolerance class, which reduces the radial and axial runout of the rings and ensures smoother running.
As an open roller bearing, this design does not have any integrated sealing washers. Protection against dirt and moisture, as well as the retention of lubricant, is provided by the surrounding machine housing or by external sealing elements such as shaft seals.
Manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance, this design is suitable for standard fit conditions on shafts and housings, provided that no extreme temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation.
