The SKF 22324 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing, measuring 120 × 260 × 86 mm, accommodates heavy radial loads and reliably compensates for misalignment.
The SKF 22324 CC/W33 self-aligning roller bearing belongs to the Explorer performance class and withstands high combined loads in industrial plant. Thanks to its crowned rollers and the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing automatically adjusts itself in the event of shaft deflection. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements, whilst the standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6 enables operation in a temperature range from -30 to +200 degrees.
This rolling bearing is suitable for heavily loaded industrial drives and heavy machinery where misalignment or elastic shaft deflection occurs. The double-row roller arrangement transmits considerable radial forces as well as simultaneously acting axial forces in both directions without causing any significant additional friction. The open design allows for the flexible use of grease or lubricating oil and facilitates integration into external lubrication systems where bearing support distances are large.
The suffix W33 denotes an annular lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This design directs lubricant directly between the rows of rollers, which facilitates relubrication during operation. Dimensional accuracy complies with standard class PN, whilst running accuracy is manufactured to tolerance class P5. This tighter running tolerance reduces vibrations and promotes uniform concentricity at rated speeds.
With an internal diameter of 120 mm, an external diameter of 260 mm and a total width of 86 mm, the bearing is suitable for heavy-duty shaft mountings. Before installation, the shaft seat and housing bore must be adjusted to these nominal dimensions to ensure a precise fit.
The abbreviation CC refers to the version with a sheet steel cage, whilst W33 describes a ring-shaped lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. This arrangement directs lubricant directly between the rows of rollers and simplifies regular maintenance.
This design features standard radial bearing clearance. This clearance is suitable for standard installation conditions and operating conditions without extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, meaning that no additional measures are required to compensate for thermal expansion.
Designed for 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and featuring an open design, the permissible temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees. To ensure reliable operation at higher temperatures, care must be taken to ensure that the selected lubricant is suitable for this temperature range.
As an open pendulum roller bearing, this component does not feature integrated seals. It is designed for housings with external sealing and allows a free choice between grease or oil lubrication, as well as targeted relubrication via the lubrication holes in the outer ring.
SKF Explorer stands for optimised material and manufacturing quality designed to reduce friction and wear. Combined with P5 precision, this design ensures smooth running and high performance under demanding loads.
