The SKF 22312 E/C3 self-aligning roller bearing, with dimensions of 60x130x46 mm and increased C3 clearance, is designed to support shafts under high radial loads.
The 22312 E/C3 self-aligning roller bearing is made from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) and accommodates heavy radial loads as well as axial forces in both directions. Thanks to its barrel-shaped rollers, the component automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation. The open bearing features a robust sheet steel cage and is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees. A lubrication groove with integrated lubrication holes on the outer ring facilitates the supply of lubricant directly into the interior of the rolling element raceway.
Design engineers select this design primarily for demanding industrial applications involving heavy shock loads, vibrations or significant shaft deflection. Typical areas of application include industrial drive systems and heavy machinery subject to dynamic loads. As the 22312 E/C3 self-aligning roller bearing compensates for angular misalignment between the shaft and housing, it counteracts undesirable edge stresses on the rollers. This helps to reduce wear and promote smooth running even under high loads.
The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance is advantageous when tight fits cause the inner ring to expand or when temperature differences between the inner and outer rings reduce the operating clearance. In this bearing, SKF combines dimensional accuracy PN with the increased running accuracy of class P5. This enables you to achieve particularly precise concentricity. Due to the open design, sealing is provided by the surrounding housing structure, whilst the lubricant can be replenished as required.
The dimensions are 60 mm bore diameter, 130 mm outer diameter and 46 mm overall width. During design, these mounting dimensions must be matched to the shaft and housing bore to ensure a precise fit.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This increased radial clearance helps to ensure that the rolling elements can roll freely, even when heated or in a tight fit, without becoming jammed during operation.
Grease or lubricating oil is fed directly to the raceways via a lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring. As the design does not incorporate any integrated seals, the lubricant is supplied and protection against contamination is provided by the surrounding housing.
The component is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees. The 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel used and the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage retain their strength within this temperature range. Please ensure you select a lubricant that also covers this temperature range.
This bearing combines the dimensional accuracy of PN with the higher running accuracy of class P5. The mounting dimensions comply with the standard specification, whilst the P5 running accuracy contributes to improved concentricity and reduces unwanted vibrations during operation.
The sheet steel cage guides the rollers evenly along their raceways and maintains a defined distance between them. The sheet steel construction combines mechanical stability with low mass and is designed for an operating temperature range up to +200 degrees.
