The SKF 22330 CCK/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing (150x320x108 mm) withstands high radial loads and reliably compensates for misalignment during operation.
The SKF 22330 CCK/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications involving combined radial and axial loads. With key dimensions of 150 mm bore diameter, 320 mm outer diameter and 108 mm width, this design offers a high load-carrying capacity for heavy-duty applications. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the component can withstand operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees. As an open bearing, it can be flexibly integrated into oil- or grease-lubricated assemblies.
This bearing is primarily used where heavy loads act on shaft deflection or misalignment between bearing seats. The spherical raceway in the outer ring allows the rollers to self-align angularly without increasing friction. Typical applications include heavily loaded shaft mountings and industrial gearboxes prone to deflection. The robust sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements with vibration resistance, whilst the increased running accuracy to Class P5 ensures smooth operation during dynamic processes.
The designation provides crucial information for installation and operation. The letter K stands for the tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. This design facilitates installation on tapered shaft journals or using mounting and withdrawal sleeves. The suffix combination W33 denotes a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring to ensure a uniform supply of lubricant. At the same time, the increased radial clearance C3 compensates for thermal expansion at operating temperatures up to +200 degrees, as well as for the reduction in clearance during press-fitting.
This design is characterised by the combination of a tapered bore, C3 bearing clearance and the W33 relubrication device. With dimensions of 150 × 320 × 108 mm, the bearing internally compensates for misalignment. Standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and the dimensionally stable sheet steel cage allow operation at temperatures ranging from –30 to +200 degrees Celsius.
With a bore diameter of 150 mm, an outside diameter of 320 mm and a width of 108 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. The inner bore is tapered at a ratio of 1:12. Before fitting, check that the mating parts of the shaft or mounting sleeve are of the correct dimensions.
The suffix W33 denotes a ring-shaped lubrication groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring of the bearing. This design facilitates relubrication whilst the bearing is fitted, as the lubricant is fed directly between the two rows of rollers. This ensures that the lubricant is distributed evenly across the running surfaces.
The tapered bore with a 1:12 taper ensures a secure fit on the shaft. Installation can be carried out either directly onto a tapered shaft seat or, on cylindrical shafts, using mounting and withdrawal sleeves. When slid on axially, the radial clearance is reduced in a controlled manner, resulting in a play-free and secure fit.
Bearing clearance class C3 offers greater radial clearance compared with the standard version. This clearance is necessary because the press-fitting of the tapered inner ring measurably reduces the internal bearing clearance. Furthermore, the increased initial clearance compensates for temperature differences between the inner and outer rings caused by operation.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees. The 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability throughout this range. In the event of continuously high operating temperatures, care must be taken to ensure that the selected lubricant is suitable for the thermal conditions.
