The SKF 23226 CCK/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing (130x230x80 mm) compensates for misalignment and accommodates heavy radial loads with increased C3 clearance.
With the SKF 23226 CCK/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing, you are choosing a rolling bearing for demanding industrial applications. The design, made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, features two rows of rollers with a shared hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, enabling shaft deflection and misalignment to be reliably compensated for during operation. Fitted with a robust sheet steel cage and a tapered bore, this open bearing can handle high radial forces and combined loads at operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius.
In industrial applications, the 23226 CCK/C3W33 self-aligning roller bearing reliably absorbs heavy radial loads as well as simultaneously acting axial forces. Its angular adjustment capability compensates for misalignment and elastic shaft deflection during operation, and counteracts sharp peak loads on the rollers. Thanks to its open design, the roller bearing is suitable for oil- or grease-lubricated mountings, whilst the integrated circumferential groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring (W33) facilitates targeted relubrication whilst the bearing is installed.
The tapered bore with a 1:12 taper allows for secure mounting on tapered shaft seats or using clamping and withdrawal sleeves. When pressed onto the bearing seat, the radial clearance is measurably reduced, which is why the increased C3 bearing clearance is selected. It compensates both for the expansion of the inner ring during assembly and for subsequent thermal expansion during continuous operation. With the ‘normal dimension’ (PN) tolerance class and enhanced P5 running accuracy, this rolling bearing meets high requirements for concentricity and smooth running.
With a bore of 130 mm, an outside diameter of 230 mm and a width of 80 mm, the bearing provides a wide support base for high radial loads. Before installation, it is advisable to check the available installation space in the housing and on the shaft seat.
The suffix CC denotes the internal construction with a sheet steel cage. The ‘K’ denotes the tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. ‘C3’ indicates a larger radial bearing clearance than the standard, whilst ‘W33’ denotes the lubrication groove integrated into the outer ring, with lubrication holes for direct lubricant supply.
An increased clearance (C3) compensates for the deliberate expansion of the inner ring during fitting onto a tapered seat or a clamping sleeve. At the same time, it reduces the risk of the rolling elements becoming jammed if temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings during operation. This ensures that low-friction operation is maintained even under thermal stress.
Thanks to the W33 design, the outer ring features a lubrication groove with lubrication holes. This allows grease or lubricating oil to reach directly between the two rows of rollers. In open self-aligning roller bearings, the lubricant is supplied via the housing system, with the W33 geometry facilitating uniform relubrication during operation.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. Both the dimensionally stable 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the robust sheet steel cage are designed for this temperature range. The lubricant used must be suited to the operating temperatures encountered in the specific application.
The dimensional accuracy PN complies with the standard tolerances for bore and outer diameters for standardised housing fits. The running accuracy P5 implies tighter tolerances with regard to concentricity and parallelism. As a result, the bearing operates with lower vibration and promotes even load distribution during operation.
