The SKF 22336 CCK/W33 spherical roller bearing, measuring 180 × 380 × 126 mm, offers angular adjustability, a lubrication groove and precise P5 running accuracy for heavy-duty industrial applications.
The 22336 CCK/W33 self-aligning roller bearing is a double-row roller bearing designed for demanding heavy-duty applications. Its design automatically compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection. This open bearing, made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, features a tapered bore and a sheet steel cage. A lubrication system in the outer ring ensures even distribution of grease and oil directly in the rolling element area.
This self-aligning roller bearing is particularly suitable for heavily loaded industrial applications and heavy-duty bearings subjected to high radial forces. At the same time, it accommodates axial loads acting from both directions. Thanks to the spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing tolerates shaft misalignment without undulatory stresses occurring. Thanks to its permissible operating temperature range of –30 to +200 degrees, this design can also withstand significant thermal fluctuations during operation.
The tapered bore with a 1:12 taper allows for direct mounting on tapered shaft seats or mounting on cylindrical shafts using clamping and withdrawal sleeves. During assembly, qualified personnel precisely set the desired bearing clearance by axially sliding the bearing onto the shaft. The designation W33 denotes a circumferential lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring, allowing the lubricant to be applied directly between the rows of rollers during maintenance work.
The designation describes specific design features of the rolling bearing. The abbreviation CC stands for the internal design with a sheet steel cage. The letter K refers to the tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. The suffix W33 denotes a lubrication groove with lubrication holes in the outer ring for the supply of lubricant.
The bore diameter is 180 mm at the conical inner surface, the outer diameter is 380 mm and the overall width is 126 mm. With these dimensions, the bearing is suitable for heavy-duty shaft support applications in mechanical engineering where large forces must be absorbed within a confined space.
The bearing is mounted either directly onto a tapered shaft seat or, on cylindrical shafts, using a clamping or withdrawal sleeve. During axial press-fitting, the radial bearing clearance decreases continuously. Measuring the residual bearing clearance with a feeler gauge is used to check that the bearing is securely seated.
This roller bearing combines standard dimensional accuracy (PN) at the mounting dimensions with enhanced running accuracy of class P5. This tighter running tolerance reduces runout error during operation. It thus promotes low-vibration and smooth running, with even load distribution across the entire roller package.
Open roller bearings do not have integrated seals. This design allows for flexible lubrication with grease or lubricating oil via the housing system and the W33 lubrication groove. Furthermore, the open design enables use within an extended temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees, as there are no sealing materials to restrict the thermal limits.
The bearing is specified for a temperature range of -30 to +200 degrees. The standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel used and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability and load-carrying capacity within this range. To ensure correct operation, a lubricant suitable for the respective operating temperature must be selected.
