The SKF 2310 K double-row self-aligning ball bearing (50x110x40 mm) compensates for misalignment and is suitable for mounting with adapter sleeves.
The SKF 2310 K self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row, open rolling bearing with a tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. With key dimensions of a 50 mm bore, 110 mm outer diameter and 40 mm width, this bearing accommodates radial loads. The shared hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring allows the two rows of balls to adjust flexibly. The bearing thus compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation without unnecessarily increasing friction.
Designs featuring long shafts or separate bearing housings are prone to elastic deflection and misalignment during operation. In such environments, the double-row self-aligning ball bearing counteracts edge stresses, as the inner ring remains angularly adjustable. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements at operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees. The open bearing is preferably used in protected installation spaces with external oil or grease lubrication.
The suffix ‘K’ denotes the tapered bore (1:12), which allows mounting directly onto a tapered shaft seat or, by means of a clamping or withdrawal sleeve, onto cylindrical shafts. During assembly, the desired bearing clearance can be adjusted via the axial displacement and the resulting reduction in radial clearance. The component is manufactured ex works with standard radial bearing clearance and to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. An external housing seal must be provided for continuous operation.
As a double-row roller bearing with a tapered bore, this version is made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. Thanks to the hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, the inner ring adapts flexibly to misalignments. The open bearing measures 50x110x40 mm, has a sheet steel cage and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
The letter K denotes a tapered bore with a pitch ratio of 1:12. This design facilitates mounting on cylindrical shafts using a separate clamping sleeve or directly onto conically ground shaft journals. At the same time, the sliding travel along the taper allows for precise adjustment of the remaining radial bearing clearance during press-fitting.
The roller bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 40 mm. These dimensions enable the bearing to absorb the corresponding radial forces within the system. Before installation, it is advisable to check the available installation space in the bearing housing.
The model is available with standard radial bearing clearance and in tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. This classification meets standard industrial requirements for dimensional and running accuracy. As the radial clearance is reduced when the bearing is slid onto the taper, the bearing clearance should be checked using a feeler gauge during the pressing process.
As an open bearing, this model has no integrated sealing washers. Lubrication is provided via the housing, either with grease or oil. External housing seals are required to protect against contamination and lubricant loss. Thanks to the sheet steel cage, the permissible operating temperature range is between -30 degrees and +150 degrees.
The distinctive feature lies in the hollow-spherical raceway of the outer ring. Both rows of balls run in separate grooves in the inner ring, but can rotate together within the spherical outer ring. As a result, the bearing accommodates dynamic shaft deflections and static misalignments without localised edge stresses placing a load on the rolling elements.
