The SKF 1202 ETN9 self-aligning ball bearing has a 15 mm bore, an outer diameter of 35 mm and compensates for misalignment with its double-row design.
The 1202 ETN9 self-aligning ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a cylindrical bore. The design features a common spherical raceway in the outer ring, which automatically compensates for shaft deflection and misalignment. The open bearing has the standard radial clearance and a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1. It is suitable for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
Designs with longer shafts or flexible housings tend to develop misalignment between the inner and outer rings during operation. This self-aligning ball bearing accommodates misalignment without causing edge pressures or generating additional residual stresses. This design is used in bearing applications where radial loads are predominant and angular misalignment needs to be compensated for.
The designation ETN9 refers to a version with a polyamide cage that guides the rolling elements. The material reduces the bearing’s own weight and operates more quietly than solid metal cages. As this is an open design without sealing washers, the lubricant can be selected flexibly to suit the specific application. A clean installation environment prevents contaminants from entering the raceways.
This double-row roller bearing automatically compensates for angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing. The outer ring has a continuous ball raceway in which the two rows of balls can move freely. Manufactured from 100Cr6 bearing steel, the bearing features a lightweight polyamide cage and a standard inner ring design.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 15 mm, an external diameter of 35 mm and a width of 11 mm. It complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. Thanks to its cylindrical bore, it can be fitted directly onto suitable shaft seats.
The suffix indicates that the product is fitted with a lightweight polyamide cage. This cage material is flexible and operates quietly, and is suitable for the operating temperature range specified in the data sheet, from -30 to +120 degrees.
The model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. Under normal fit conditions and at moderate operating temperatures, this standard bearing clearance provides sufficient leeway to ensure that, once pressed onto the shaft, the rolling elements can roll freely without any impermissible preload.
As this self-aligning ball bearing is of an open design, it does not have any integrated sealing washers. Grease or lubricating oil is applied during assembly in accordance with the specifications for the relevant design. External seals fitted to the housing protect the open raceways from the ingress of dirt.
