The FAG 2215-TVH self-aligning ball bearing (75x130x31 mm), with its hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation.
This double-row self-aligning ball bearing 2215-TVH is manufactured by FAG and is designed to accommodate radial loads whilst allowing for free angular adjustment. Thanks to the shared spherical raceway in the outer ring, the two rows of balls adjust flexibly in the event of misalignment. The rolling bearing has a cylindrical bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width of 31 mm. It is made from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and complies with the P0/PN (ABEC 1) standard tolerance.
Designs with long shafts tend to experience elastic deflection under load or exhibit installation-related misalignment between the individual bearing positions. Rigid bearing types reach their mechanical limits under such conditions and generate edge stresses that can accelerate wear. The 2215 -TVH self-aligning ball bearing compensates for these angular misalignments directly within the component. As a result, this design reduces internal residual stresses in industrial drive systems and promotes smooth shaft rotation.
The suffix ‘TVH’ denotes the polyamide cage. Compared with metal cage designs, this type of cage reduces the moving mass of the rolling element assembly and promotes low-vibration and low-noise operation. The double-row roller bearing has standard radial clearance and is designed for use in a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As this is an open design without integrated sealing washers, the bearing location requires a lubricant supply and an external sealing arrangement to prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture.
The double-row bearing has a continuous hollow-spherical raceway in the outer ring. This geometry allows the inner ring, together with the ball cages, to adjust freely in the event of misalignment or shaft deflection, which prevents the rolling elements from tilting during operation.
The component has an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a total width of 31 mm. It has a cylindrical bore and is mounted directly onto the shaft.
The abbreviation TVH indicates a polyamide cage. This material is lightweight, dampens running noise and guides the balls during operation. This design is suitable for the bearing’s specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance, which is designed for typical fit conditions and standard operating conditions. The standard bearing clearance helps to ensure that the bearing retains the required operating clearance after being pressed onto the shaft.
As an open bearing without integrated grinding or cover discs, the product can be operated flexibly using grease or oil. To protect against solid particles and moisture, the housing design must be fitted with external shaft seals or labyrinth seals.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material is characterised by its dimensional stability under load, whilst the manufacture complies with standard tolerance class P0.
