The FAG 11505-TVH double-row self-aligning ball bearing, with a polyamide cage and dimensions of 25 × 52 × 15 mm, compensates for misalignment and shaft deflection during operation.
The double-row self-aligning ball bearing 11505 -TVH absorbs radial forces and accommodates misalignment between the inner and outer rings. A common spherical raceway in the outer ring enables the angular movement required to compensate for dynamic misalignment during operation. FAG manufactures this model from through-hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 with a cylindrical bore and standard radial clearance. Thanks to its manufacture to standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, the bearing complies with the defined specifications for rotating shafts in mechanical engineering.
Design engineers select the 11505 -TVH self-aligning ball bearing for rotating shafts where misalignment between the bearing seats or deflection under load may occur. The double-row design guides the rolling elements evenly and is designed for assemblies subject to predominantly radial loads and low axial forces. Compared with rigid rolling bearings, the spherical raceway prevents edge pressure on the rolling elements when the shaft and housing tilt relative to one another. This ensures smooth concentricity even in the event of operational misalignment.
The suffix ‘TVH’ denotes a solid polyamide cage, which is lightweight and has elastic material properties. This cage design dampens operational vibrations, reduces running noise and keeps inertia low at varying speeds. The permissible temperature range of the rolling bearing extends from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As an open design without integrated seals, the bearing requires external sealing of the housing as well as regular lubrication with a suitable grease or lubricating oil.
A spherical raceway in the outer ring allows the inner and outer rings to pivot relative to one another. As a result, the double-row bearing compensates for misalignment and elastic shaft deflection during operation without causing harmful edge stresses. The design transmits radial forces whilst maintaining continuous concentricity.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 25 mm, an external diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm. The cylindrical bore sits directly on the shaft. As it is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, the component can be precisely integrated into standardised housing seats.
The designation TVH refers to a solid, injection-moulded cage made of polyamide. The material is characterised by good sliding properties, a low weight and vibration-damping properties. The cage guides the balls evenly and retains its dimensional stability within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
FAG manufactures this component with standard radial bearing clearance. The internal bearing clearance lies within the defined standard range and, under normal fit conditions and at moderate operating temperatures, provides sufficient freedom of movement for the rolling elements to prevent stress build-up during operation.
External sealing elements, such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals in the surrounding housing, protect the bearing from contaminants, as no integrated sealing washers are fitted. The open design allows for initial lubrication as required or direct connection to an existing oil circulation system.
The raceways and rolling elements are made from through-hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This alloy offers high wear resistance, excellent fatigue strength under cyclic rolling loads and contributes to dimensional stability under radial loads.
