The FAG 2319 -K-M double-row self-aligning ball bearing, with a tapered bore and brass cage, compensates for misalignment with a shaft diameter of 95 mm.
The FAG 2319 -K-M double-row self-aligning ball bearing is an open rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with main dimensions of 95 × 200 × 67 mm. The design features a common hollow spherical raceway in the outer ring, which allows shaft deflection and misalignment to be automatically compensated for during operation. Fitted with a brass cage and standard radial clearance, this bearing is suitable for demanding industrial applications. It covers an operating temperature range of –30 to +150 degrees Celsius and complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The 2319 -K-M self-aligning ball bearing is recommended for use where shafts flex elastically or where manufacturing-related misalignment occurs between housing seats. Thanks to its double-row design, the bearing absorbs radial forces and allows angular adjustment movements without causing impermissible edge loads on the rolling elements. The brass cage guides the rolling elements stably under dynamic loads. Typical applications include general mechanical engineering and bearing arrangements with longer support spans.
The suffix ‘K’ denotes a tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12. This design allows for direct mounting on a tapered shaft seat or for mounting on cylindrical shafts using a clamping or withdrawal sleeve. The axial displacement allows the bearing clearance to be precisely adjusted during installation. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, the type of lubricant and external sealing must be selected to suit the operating conditions of the respective bearing location.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 95 mm, an external diameter of 200 mm and a width of 67 mm. The bore is tapered at a ratio of 1:12, which is crucial when selecting the appropriate shaft seats or sleeves.
The letter K stands for the tapered bore with a taper ratio of 1:12, which allows for flexible mounting using clamping or withdrawal sleeves. The designation ‘M’ refers to a brass cage. Brass cages offer high mechanical stability and are suitable for applications involving vibration or elevated operating temperatures.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. The 100Cr6 material and the brass cage retain their dimensional stability within this range. As the bearing is unsealed, the lubricant used must also be approved for the prevailing operating temperature at the bearing location.
As an open roller bearing, this version is supplied ex works without an integrated seal or grease filling. Depending on requirements, the bearing can be operated using grease or lubricating oil. The type of lubrication and relubrication intervals depend on the operating conditions, whilst external seals protect against contamination.
This model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and complies with tolerance classes P0/PN or ABEC 1. This version meets the standard requirements of mechanical engineering in terms of dimensional accuracy and running characteristics, provided there are no extreme fit or temperature specifications.
The spherically curved inner surface of the outer ring forms a common raceway for both rows of balls. In the event of shaft deflection or misalignment between the housings, the inner ring, cage and balls pivot freely within the outer ring. This allows misalignment to be compensated for during operation without excessive edge pressure.
