The SKF QJ330 N2MA four-point bearing (150x320x65 mm) accommodates axial loads in both directions and features a split inner ring and retaining grooves.
The QJ330 N2MA four-point bearing is a single-row radial angular contact ball bearing in the SKF Explorer design, with raceways designed to accommodate high axial forces in both directions. With a bore of 150 mm, an outside diameter of 320 mm and a width of 65 mm, this rolling bearing requires less axial installation space than double-row bearing arrangements. The two-piece inner ring allows for a large number of balls, which enhances the load-carrying capacity during operation.
It is primarily used in bearing locations where predominantly axial forces occur within limited axial installation space, or as a pure axial bearing in combination with a separate radial bearing. The two retaining grooves in the outer ring, offset by 180 degrees, allow the bearing to be secured against rotation within the housing. The brass cage guides the rolling elements even under demanding thermal and dynamic operating conditions.
This design combines dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 with higher running accuracy to P5, which promotes smooth concentricity. Thanks to the split inner ring, the bearing can be fitted in separate stages: the outer ring with ball cage and the inner ring halves can be fitted onto the shaft and housing one after the other. Designed for a temperature range of –30 to +200 degrees, the open bearing requires a suitable external housing seal as well as a tailored lubrication system.
This roller bearing has a bore of 150 mm, an outer diameter of 320 mm and a width of 65 mm. Thanks to these dimensions, the design accommodates axial forces acting in both directions within a compact installation space, without the need to position two separate single-row angular contact ball bearings side by side.
The two retaining grooves, offset by 180 degrees, on one end face of the outer ring serve to prevent the bearing from rotating within the housing. This is particularly intended for situations where the four-point bearing is installed as a purely axial bearing with radial clearance in the housing.
The split inner ring allows a greater number of rolling elements to be fitted than with solid rings. This increases the load-carrying capacity of the bearing assembly. Furthermore, the design simplifies installation, as the outer ring, brass cage and inner ring halves can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing.
In this version, dimensional accuracy complies with Class P6 and running accuracy with Class P5. The manufacturing tolerances are therefore tighter than those of the standard tolerance, which reduces run-out deviations and contributes to precise shaft guidance.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees Celsius. The built-in brass cage retains its shape even within this temperature range. As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, the actual thermal operating limit is determined by the external lubricant selected.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. This operating clearance is sufficient for typical fit conditions and operating temperatures to maintain the required bearing clearance between the raceways and balls after press-fitting.
