The SKF QJ313 MA four-point bearing, measuring 65 × 140 × 33 mm, accommodates high axial forces in both directions within a narrow installation space.
The SKF QJ313 MA four-point bearing is a single-row angular contact ball bearing with a split inner ring, which accommodates axial forces in both directions. Thanks to its dimensions – a 65 mm bore, 140 mm outside diameter and 33 mm width – this bearing is suitable for designs with limited axial installation space. The open bearing design allows for direct lubrication within the machine housing. Combined with its Explorer-quality manufacture, this rolling bearing supports demanding industrial applications in machine and gearbox construction.
This four-point bearing is particularly suitable for bearing locations where high axial loads from varying directions occur and radial installation space is available. Typical applications include industrial gearboxes and mechanical assemblies subject to combined loads. As the outer ring has no retaining groove, the component can be easily inserted into suitable housing bores. Design engineers frequently use four-point bearings in combination with a pure radial bearing, with the QJ313 MA specifically providing axial guidance.
The two-piece inner ring allows for the accommodation of a large number of rolling elements, which increases the axial load capacity. Furthermore, this design facilitates the separate mounting of the outer ring with the ball set and the inner ring halves onto the shaft. The solid brass cage (suffix MA) is characterised by high strength and good emergency running properties. It withstands high accelerations and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. The tolerance class P6 for dimensional accuracy and P5 for running accuracy ensures low-vibration operation.
The bearing has a bore of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 140 mm and a width of 33 mm. These dimensions determine the installation space required on the shaft and within the housing. Thanks to its compact width, it often replaces two separate angular contact ball bearings in the axial direction.
A split inner ring consists of two separate ring halves. This design allows a large number of balls to be fitted into the bearing, which contributes to a high axial load capacity. Furthermore, during assembly, the inner ring halves and the outer ring can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing.
The suffix ‘MA’ denotes a brass cage. This type of cage offers high mechanical stability under demanding operating conditions, vibrations or rapid changes in speed. Brass cages are also suitable for use at elevated temperatures and are characterised by low friction coefficients.
This model has a standard radial bearing clearance. This standard bearing clearance is designed for typical operating temperatures and fit conditions. It ensures that the rolling elements can move freely under typical operating conditions without being subjected to excessive stress due to thermal expansion of the bearing rings.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. This temperature range is determined by the thermal stability of the rings and the robust brass cage. For open-type bearings, the chosen lubricant – such as oil or grease – must also be suitable for the prevailing operating temperatures.
This bearing is designed to meet dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 and running accuracy to class P5. Both classes offer tighter manufacturing tolerances than the standard tolerance. This results in more precise concentricity, lower vibrations and smooth running in demanding assemblies.
