The SKF 61800 -2Z deep groove ball bearing features compact dimensions of 10 × 19 × 5 mm and is protected on both sides by non-contact cover plates.
The 61800 -2Z deep groove ball bearing is characterised by a particularly narrow cross-section and is suitable for designs with limited radial installation space. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, this single-row bearing primarily withstands radial forces and supports moderate axial forces in both directions. Thanks to the integrated sheet steel cage and the standard radial clearance, the ball row runs smoothly within the specified temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This compact design is primarily used where low radial overall heights and narrow cross-sections are required alongside precise shaft guidance. The bearing primarily supports radial loads and is suitable for applications involving moderate axial forces. Thanks to its cylindrical shape without a groove or flange, the outer ring can be fitted directly into suitable housing bores.
The suffix -2Z denotes cover plates made of profiled sheet steel fitted on both sides. These plates form a tight sealing gap against the inner ring shoulders. They serve to make it more difficult for solid foreign particles to penetrate and to prevent the escape of lubricant. As the cover operates without contact, no additional friction occurs, which facilitates operation at high speeds with minimal heat build-up.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 10 mm, an external diameter of 19 mm and a width of 5 mm. Thanks to this narrow cross-section, the component enables compact bearing arrangements with minimal radial and axial space requirements.
The designation -2Z refers to cover plates made of sheet steel fitted on both sides. These non-contact gap covers prevent dirt particles from entering the bearing whilst not causing increased rotational resistance or additional heat build-up at the bearing location due to friction.
The 61800-2Z deep-groove ball bearing is specified for an operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, the rolling elements and rings made of bearing steel, as well as the integrated sheet steel cage, retain their mechanical properties and dimensional stability.
This model has the standard radial bearing clearance. The operating clearance is therefore within the standard range and is designed for conventional fit conditions and operating conditions without any unusual temperature gradients between the inner and outer rings.
The bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN in accordance with ISO and corresponds to the US ABEC 1 classification. This design offers standard concentricity and dimensional accuracy for standardised applications in general mechanical engineering.
The integrated sheet steel cage keeps the rolling elements at a uniform distance apart and prevents the balls from coming into direct contact with one another. Thanks to its low weight and robust construction, it is designed for an operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
